3400 lightened alt pulley HELP PLZ
I just bought a lightened alt and water pump pulley set off a member of GAGT. The water pump pulley is not being an issue. But how do i get the main nut off the alternator? It just wants to spin when i apply any torque. I tried leaving the belt on to give me some tension but its not enough, the belt slips. Any ideas? Help please cause i wanna get it all done and need to drive the car soon. Thanks alot.

That will get it, you need an impact gun to remove it

got it off, new one on, realized that the new one is wayyy bigger than the stocker, like the stocker will fit inside the new one. Also the stocker is thicker, there isnt enough thread one the alt shaft to tighten the new one down all the way so there is lots of wobble. So naturally the stock went back on and the car went back together. Emailed the guy i bought it off on GAGT and gonna see what he will do for me. He had never installed the pair of pullies i bought from him so its not his fault. I just hope it get figured out. For some reason i doubt it. The water pump pulley went on no problems though. Very nice, car revs a tad quicker, the butt dyno tells me that it freed up a smidge of power a little lower in the rpm range, making it more usable. Woulda been nice to have the alt pulley to go with it.

Ahh so you had the oversized pulley, I forget the belt size but you do need a larger belt.
I got the lighter stock sized one from RSM racing, and I'm happier with that one.

The oversized will not allow the Alternator to charge at idle
