I was told that the engine is the same for the cavys on the ho's. THat the 2.4 cavy engine will work for the 2.4 aleros. Is that the same for the 2.2. Plus i have a friend who has a 2.2 non ecotec intake for a cavy. He was wondering if it would work for the 2.2 ecotec engine on the ho.

As far as I know...everything like headers, intakes, etc. will fit; just stuff like engine mounts that won't.

She said "non ecotec" which is the 2200.
2200 parts won't fit on Aleros. Once the 2200 and 2.4 were dropped for the cavy they switched to the 2.2L ECOTEC... 2003? 2004? something like that. If its older than that its a 2200 and won't work.

see we have a 2.2 non ecotec intake for a cavalier. I have a 2.2 ecotec in the 04 ho. But if i had the 2.2 eco for the cavy it would fit my car though right.. Just wondering cause they dont want to let the intake go to waste so we might send it back and get credit towards the eco one .

Alright, the non ecotec 2.2 has almost NOTHING in common with the ecotec 2.2, as far as I know. The intake and exhaust are completely different, that I know for sure. So, to answer your question, no, the cavy intake you mentioned will not work.

Depending on the intake you get, it will work fine if it's for a Cavalier. The CAI intake (like AEM) won't work without modifications because there is a different shape to the washer fluid bottle on the Alero versus the Cavalier. It can be modified to fit though.
If you get a WAI/Short-Ram it will be fine. Though the mounting bracket cracked on the K&N one i had before i switched to the modified AEM.
