Could anyone tell me the size of the piping on the aem short ram intakes? I have one made for the cavalier z24, and im interested in making it into a cai...... i need to find out the correct diameter of the piping....
I check out my instructions manual, and also searched the past topics and couldn't find anything.... the only thing i saw in the instructions were that all the gaskets and the rubber hose that connects to the TB are 2.75..... would the pipe be the same size?

would .25 difference be a problem with a coupler?

well if you have couplers, get pipe the same size, that's a no-brainer.

Use a tape measure ? And yah you can get couplers that are the same size bolth sides or you can getreducer couplers that are per say you can get 2inch to 1 1/2 etc.

what engine is this for? if it's the 3400, isnt the tb an odd shape?
if so i'd measure the circumference with a piece of string, then get use the string on a tape measure, and find out what the diameter would be if it was a perfect circle with a little math.
that would tell you what size coupler you would need for the TB, and then keep the piping and couplers all that same size, i wouldnt mess with reducers etc cause that's going to fiddle around with intake velocity, etc. i'd just keep a smooth airflow in there.

if the diameter was 2.75, the TB would measure 8.6 around, if the diameter was 2.5 the TB would measure 7.85.
if you look there, the difference between .25 in diameter is pretty significant, i'd try to get everything to match up.

yea, ok, well if it's a perfect circle, you can measure the diameter. if it's not a perfect circle, you can measure around it and divide by 3.14 and then from there you'll round to the nearest .25 and that'll give you the diameter.
just wondering, what makes a cavi 2.4 any different from an alero 2.4?
