Actually you are all wrong, stock piping is 2.25"
stock piping on a GAGT is 2.25", this is an alero forum. step away....

i swear the stock pipe was 1.75". cause the exhaust inlet was 2" on the stock muffler.
[/b][/quote]

Yes, all the piping on the exhasut is 1.75" and 2" on the muffler

hmm...mine was 2.25"

I had a Magnaflow setup with stock pipes and a WAI at one point. Very nice sound to it. You'll like it. not rice at all..very deep. Even had some car alarms go off (granted it was in the parking garage when that happened haha)

now i had some custom pipes when i got rid of the resonator and have a cold air intake from Doctor Speed. andd yeah it sounds really good this way too haha. hope this helps ya.

just something to keep in mind, a custom catback which is what i did essentially when i got my pipes included with the price of the muffler is like 300 total. then figure install and tips so like 425-450ish. If you just get a muffler and tips with install your looking like 300ish. So just keep that in mind because the borla is very pricey as well as that slp. all of them are solid though.

From when I did my piping, after the cat, I had 2.0", and that continued right into the muffler... when I still used one...

ok so i figured it out for sure, it is in fact 2"

heres another question,

the muffler im eyeing out (magnaflow part# 14827) but heres the thing, the smallest inlet size is 2.25", is there a way i can have it connect to my 2" outlet? i was thinking if i had a little attachment to the pipe that fits my 2" then expands out to fit the 2.25" to make it fit with that exhaust.

if anyone knows of a better way other than putting in new pipes to fit it, let me know.

IF you relpace the cat with anything other than stock, you need a Sim

I have the 2.4 w/ Pacesetter header connected to custom 2.5inch pipe with that has a 2.5 in and out high flow cat with no o2 sim. I ran it like that for over a year with no codes. The second o2 is just there to see if the cat is doing its job.

of course they can make that fit. all they do is start with a smaller pipe, heat up the end and stretch it out a bit. any muffler man can do that.

thats not true haha.. yeah the slp is good but there are plenty of good exhaust setups you can go with. and they will all be good for about the same performance numbers

If your gonna get an exhaust system, get SLP. Otherwise go to a shop and tell them you want 2.5" piping from your cat to a flowmaster or magnaflow muffler.
