I went to the dealer 2 times because my brakes were having problems with making noises... (I am pretty sure a caliper problem, as it makes a 'creaking, compressing noises when I push on the brake pedal...kind of like a 'stress' sound due to too much pressure' if that makes sense) anywho they told me that there had been an update in the fluid. So they get that in, I go in and they change it out only to tell me that there was another update to the fluid and that once again it is on friggin back order. Is this true??? Could someone shed some light on whether or not this is true or if they are trying to stall it until my factory warranty runs out. They said the noise is coing from the accumulator or acctuator (I can't remember which). It sucks though because I don't have very sensitive or strong brakes due to whatever the problem is. Sometimes when I first start my car they are really sensitive, but over time they get 'sloppy'...

Have you done business with them before. Sounds to me like a scam talking about all the upcomming updates and back order. I dont think its possible to have a back order on brake fluid. Dont we use dot fluid anyway?

Well, supposedly it is a special type of brake fluid...with specific properties...??? I thought brake fluid is brake fluid with the exception of like boiling points etc...
edit:BTW I am still in factory warranty for like 12k more miles. I am not sure if it is legit or if they are just trying to stall until it is out of factory warranty.

LMFAO. brake fluid upgrades that is some funny poop :lol2: We all run DOT3 approved brake fluid (from the factory), only special property is the boiling point (some brand may be higher but the DOT min. is met by all) If is was on back order they could go to NAPA/autozone/etc and get it by the case. That is BS.
Take it to another dealer and get if fixed by some place that has a clue.

Well that's the problem...they are the only GM dealership in Idaho Falls... I would leave skids, but I don't think my brakes will, braking power is weak...not enough to be dangerous, but not enough to skid...I don't have ABS BTW. Can I request to see the TSB???

I dont think there is a such a thing as Brake fluid updates. Your car only uses DOT 3 brake fluid. Which has been around for like yrs. Your brakes seems weak prolly cuz
1.) your master cylinder might be going out. (if theres still no good pressure when pressing the pedal)
2.) try rebleeding the brake lines and make sure there no air bubbles (I would do this first, before going out and buying a master cylinder)
3.) The GM pads/rotors sucks to begin with. (get aftermarket)
Those are the 3 solutions.

Well asap I am lookin at a 12 inch kit with dual piston aluminum calipers from manapart with cross drilled and slotted rotors...just gotta come up with a grand...

nah u don't really need those. You can get better rotors from ebay crossed drilled and slotted for all 4 disc brakes for 150 bucks. Then goto o' reily's or advanced auto parts and get you some nice cermanic pads. That will take care of the brakes for ya
If then your brakes still sucks, then change the master cylinder. But make sure re-bleed the brake lines to make sure theres no air bubbles in it from when the dealer changed the fluid.

yea they have just the front 2 rotors. Just search on ebay for alero rotors

Before yoiu get any brake upgrades figure out why your current brakes have so little grab and the petal is mushy. This could be something other than pads and rotors and will only be worse with bigger calipers.
If you want cross drilled and slotted (remember slotted will shorten pad life) then be sure they are cast with the holes/slots in them. Otherwise they are likely to crack, especially under extreme heat cycles. Are you auto-xing the car or just want better braking on the streets? If you just want better than stock brakes you can get some vented, solid rotors with the pads of you choice. I got the brembo OEM rotors and 911 pads and am quite happy with them

Well, I have come to the conclusion that GM parts suck, so are there any other master cylinders that aren't too expensive that would bolt up but offer better performance? I am looking at the R1Concepts rotors off of ebay but depending on if they are drilled before or after casting I may just get slotted ones.

the stock master cylinder should be fine. Those who have the baer kits still have the stock master and it seems to drive the extra pistons just fine. Its kinda hard to drill a hole before casting something but a hole in the cast is usually much better.
What kinda driving are you doing that you need the extra cooling BTW?

I like to drive fast...high speed braking and I like to get out on the twisty back roads. I also have 18" Chrome rims so they take some of my braking power away also... I don't know how to really explain it...but I bet you could to my wife and she could tell you why...
