The t65 will not work without programing and custom fitting. To do a GAGT tranny swap is pretty much worhtless. It would probably only be a few dollars more to do a t65 tranny.

The offical decission on Redog's track future is , rare. That is the amount of racing the The Alero will be doing.

I'm looking into one of the following, due to the ease, and general low cost of doing such a project. I'm looking at a few SBC's and a 700rt4 tranny.

I found a nice one on Jegs, putting down about 550 horse and getting a tranny that will stand up to it, like the 700rt4 that I saw, that is rated to 600 hp. I looked at soo many motors. The one I liked was a 427 stroker. It's a 350 block with a BB cam.

Looking to use aone of the following cars:

78-82 Monte, Malibu

78-85 Cutlass

82-85 Regal

80-94 Blazer S10

Really looking for "Grandma's" car right now. One of these cars with low miles that I could race as is until after the wedding, then work it up a bit

^^I won't be going that fast, at least not right now.

But I do agree that the Blazer/Jimmy set-up is cool. I saw somebody on the net that did a 88 Astro and it ran low 11's

Keep it in the 12's or slower or else you'll have to put a roll cage in there and some additional safety equipment around the motor. Also, you will ned to install a driveshaft safety loop in order to run the car once it's modded for racing. It's an NHRA requirement for all cars runnign 13's or quicker, plus it's good preventative maintenance in case the shaft or connectors snap and your car tries to pole vault down the track.

I just watched that episode of Mythbusters last night! They claim to have busted the myth that you can pole vault a car with a busted drive shaft. Any faster than about 20mph and the shaft just bouced over the pothole, and when it did catch at lower speed it busted through the car (and bent all up) and only lifted it about 18" off the ground. It was cool though.

Yeah that's why I want to keep it slower than 11.99. I probably won't be faster than 13's
