Version 1.0 is fine for all upgrades, you need a custom program only if you have cam mods, NO2, turbo or S/C

so you have to go to 93 fuel and you only get 6-10hp in return?

Oooooh, I didn't even think of that. 93 fuel doesn't sound too appealing right about now being that it is $2.99 a gallon. Maybe I will rethink this mod. Only 6-10 horsepower?

So it says 2000-2004 does that mean those of us with a 99 are out of luck or will it still work?

all 96 GM v6's have been supported by DHP since at least this last spring.
they dont advertise that on DHP since they are pretty overwhelmed as it is with the grand prix community.
i have told many alero guys that i can get you guys a DHP pcm.
sorry that you guys need a website to order it from like pfyc.com, but it has been available the whole time....
and just because you ordered it from PFYC, doesnt mean its gonna get to you any faster than if you went straight to DHP...

and its only gonna be a BETA pcm, which means it might not work perfectly the first time you plug it in and may need to be reflashed.
as posted by green99gls in the group buy thread

I finally got a reply back from Charles at DHP. Here it is:
" we could do these ,but they would be BETA. IF they didn't wokr right the first time, we'd update them. But it needs to be very clear to people it might need a flash or two to get it perfected. With that said, we'll do them, but people need to have some level of understanding and patience as I don't want to honor a gropu buy rate only to get my ass handed to me if someone has a problem initially .
As far as "problems" would go, nothing catastrpophic, but maybe something simple / stupid like fan turn on gets missed or we map that wrong. The timing and fuel stuff is normally easy to find....
We would need VIN #'s from any one ordering.
thanks ! "

i cant imagine that suddenly they have perfected the alero pcm in the last week lol

i understand that redog, but what i am saying is that right now, their concern is not the alero, not the grand am, not the monte carlo, not anything else BUT the grand prix.
even though PFYC and my site say that we can get the PCM for you, it doesnt mean that we can get it any quicker, just because of the fact that its for the alero which is not a market that DHP has been trying to get.
and even us vendors will get the slow replies.
the reason why each year is not "supported" yet, is because each year is different within the PCM and the codes are different. charles has to manually work the code and determine what each block is and what it does.
for him to do my 1996 pcm, just to decipher the code, took damn near 4 hours, and the 1996 PCM's memory (256k) are HALF the size of the 97+ pcms (512k), and 1/4 the size of the 03+ PCM's (1024k).
now take into consideration that its taken him how many years to figure out the grand prix stuff and there are still things that he is finding out and fixing. hense the reason why you would get a "beta" pcm. its not the #'s that they have to figure out, its what each block means within the pcm, and certain blocks and cells are similar to the grand prix's, but some are not, thats why some initial users of a "new" pcm have issues.
now add in the fact that they are now supporting the monte carlo and grand am community, it shouldnt be hard to figure out why they are slow to reply when asked about doing a new car.
but im glad for you guys that you guys are excited about getting a PCM now.
and if your that exicted about it, feel free to ask me what i can do for you guys.
im not a sponsor of this site yet due to the fact that ive just started the business, but i would be willing to give some alero guys a discount on PCM's if you want to order them. if your interested, just ask, because i wont advertise any prices on the site until i can finalize the sponsorship deal.
