Scot, you're ride has come so far in such a short period of time, I'm jealous as hell. The hood looks sweet, and the under-hood shots Randy took really show off the hard work in there, too. Awesome pics Randy ! Wish I coulda been there, all your rides look sweet, and I think y'all represented the Alero following quite well.

thanks a lot. just too bad the sun wasn't out though.

I agree with u heather, about what u said. If i can get my hood fixed by next year, I wouldn't mind showing my car, but i'm not promising anything.

I actually did attempt to fix the rust on my hood. It's not professional....but it's temporary, will keep (hopefully) from rusting more. And at least it's not noticeable anymore. At least i wont' here....Wow would u look at that rust stain...or is that bird crap? my attempt included, sanding away the rust, then, masked off the areas i didnt want painted....sprayed this rust-eloeum poop, with a primer with it. Then i bought some car touch up pain in the can. Lol i just grabbed a red that looked closet to my color. Till I got home I realized it was for an import red. It actually matches up pretty well. IMo, it's not bad, for never doing this before, nor having any freakin clue what I was doing.

^^^at least she's trying...some of us don''t have the money to afford a whole paint job on our cars...wheather it's macko or not. It should be fine for the time being until you have the money to go get a new hood and get it painted.

you should have just sanded it down really good. went to a local paint shop and got some primer sealer, a little bottle of touchup paint matched to your color. and a little bottle of touchup clear coat.
sand it down, 1 coat of primer sealer should do, 2 coats of color probably, and 1 or 2 coats of clear(enough to get it "bubbled" above the rest of the stock paint). let dry. wet sand with 1500 grit sand paper. buff. polish. you'd probably never notice

If I had money it'd be fixed by now. I'm thinking about just getting a new hood if I ever get a job. Those cowls look a lot better in person.

how much are those cowl hoods anyways. I was thinking the same thing just getting one of those hoods. But i'm sure I'd have to sit there and paint that thing too....

Fiberglass is $625, plus you have to get the big ass heavy thing shipped to you. And you really shouldn't paint that yourself. Touchup you can do, but there's no way you'd get a whole hood to look alright. Pay a body shop a hundred bucks to do it right.
