OK so yesterday I was putting my Amp and subs in my can. I have a stock radio with a inline converter. I hooked up the amp ans every thing. the seconed i hooked the the remote wire and the radio turned on. then the amp let off a poff of smoke so i um-hooked the damn thing and stared over now i dont have any speakers and i am getting pissed. i was wondering if any has ad this happen or know what happened. At this point i am temped to go buy a new H-Uint or ues my old one.

If this makes no sencse that cus i am really PISSED OFF.

well, im not sure but you probably fried your amp......

does the deck still turn on?

You might have blown some fuses too.

lots of possibilties.

when working with any electrical systems in your vehicle it is best to disconnect your battery. And make sure to double check all your wiring.

Looked at all the fuse and the amd just blow out a resiter easy fix

you replaced the fuse and it worked.........ive blown tons of fuses and i dont think ive seen smoke come from one yet.......check and make sure your amp is working 100% cause usually if you get a cloud of smoke like that......

He said a resistor was blown in the amp. I am guessing his remote or power line touched ground or chasis. This is one of the purposes for a resistor since a fuse can do nothing with guarding from reverse wiring.

Now its is doing ti agian with the amp hooked up. I am so close to re wireing the F-ing speaker wires and amp.

OK so i hook up the 1400 watt i have and jusr the power and remote wire and the speacks work when the car is on. the seconed i have the ground on and the car off i get nothing. I hooked up my old amp and i get jack doing it the same way. So right now i am temped to do what my last post siad and rewire the whole car audio wiring and put in my old head-unit

Got it the inline converter was gounding out the whole system,
