So is it an engine mod, apperance mod, or just a general mod?

Ummm... yes?
sorry I am sworn to secrecy until they decide what can and can not be mentioned but I CAN say it is not an appearance mod and there is nothing general about this. They want to breed interest in something but leave out names in case the project gets canned for some reason and have asked me not to mention anything until they have chosen the best way to word it.
Think of it as a preliminary press release. no worries tho, there will be plenty of details available. I can say this because I am in on the ground floor and involved it the decision of content.
Some things like specific company names will probably have to be left out until the "fruits of their labors" seem eminently ripe during development. things are still preliminary but a deal has been made, now work starts.

My mechanic has specialty business (several actually) building custom trannys/ differentials/ axles/ etc for street and racing applications. He has made me an offer to put in a 3.8ltr and a 4t65e in my grand am. I would buy the engine and tranny and some of the engine upgrade parts (harness, turbos) he would install them, upgrade the tranny, differential, axles and all other drivetrain parts free of charge. he would then sponsor the car and all I would have to do is race it once in a while for the business. and he has also offered me a job monitoring and maintaining the company website and forum. at the same time I would get training on building/ installing custom transmissions.
what do you guys think?

"thanks for all the input guys but after further examination the 3800/4t65e swap has been scrapped.
look for an official announcement from me about something that concerns all 3400sfi owners in the next day or 2."
Quoted from GAGT.

I suppose, if its performance related, and not horribly priced.

It's ultimately going to be flexible and better than what is currently being offered to serious modders of 3400sfi equipped vehicles.
now I have said too much and I have to go... It's late
But everyone have a little trust and patience
