no it won't, reaction time is pointless if all you're doing is testing the car for the fastest quarter mile time. the timer doesn't start until you take off. i've had 3 second r/t's before.

Well,
Regardless of when you launch I think it times from start to end.. you just get penalized for it if you launch early (if you launch late you may win the race and finish behind the guy based solely on the 1/4 time).
Good tires will certainly help... get those injectors done?
I know the feeling though... I ran a 16.01 in the Bu after a catback, 65 mm tb and ported intake manifold....
I was running from 16.2-16.6 all night, got pissed off that I couldn't break into 15's after getting the 16.01 though...

It might just be a tuning issue. A stock 3.4 should be in the high 15 range so that's what I would look at first. And yeah get some better tires for the next time you go.. it'll help a lot.

It's too hot out to race, for one thing, probably heat-soaking. 2400 probably too high to launch, what are your 60fts?
Hard to tell anything without scanning, could be false knock, sensor pulling timing.

IM pretty sure i was launching too high. the car was tuned for the injectors IM gunna put the stock wheels on all around for lighter weight. also gonna launch at 1000 to 1200. should have better results. it was kinda hot out. i expected much better with my lx9 and 65 mm throttle body

1800 rpm launch, give 'er all shes got on second yellow. Second yellow if you hit it right will net a .50 launch, perfect launch so you know. Manual or auto?

Depends on the car, I always had to go on 3rd yellow, but it's possible to stage closer up, creep in a little after you break the 2nd beam. If you stage after the other car does, the starter won't give you much time to "think about it"

If you use street tires in the water box, some water always stays in the tread. Roll thru it then do the burn out, it will keep them dryer. But some tracks won't even let you use the water box with street tires, make you go around it.

Ok, heres the problems
Launching way too high, 2400 will break the tranny. You are stalling way to much abover the converter lock up. 1000 is what I launch the Alero at. I get better times with 1g than 1200
Are you spinning at all?
Way too much burnout! With cheater slicks you still just need a dry hop. DO NOT GO THRU THE WATER BOX!!! Radals get greasy when too hot, plus youre heating up the Trans too much with that big burnout.
It is way too hot out right now!
When racing, remove the driver side fender liner, fog light, and run a CAI. I gain .5 in the 1/4 that way!
Stock wheels are 28 lbs. Your aftermarkets are probably lighter. Stock wheel and tire are 52 lbs
You have to find the right psi for your car's tires. This is not a set number. Start at stock psi, do a little spin. Like chirping the tires, look at tread and see how much tread marked the ground. Lower 1 psi until all treads are making the ground. Too little psi, the center of the tire will not contact the ground that much. And every tire is different
