A/C delete.
Well time has finally come, i removed the a/c completely. Recently the clutch on my compressor was rattling 24/7. It got really annoying. I think mainly because of all the upgraded mounts. That was the main reason, ive been thinking about it for awhile and finally did it last night. It wasnt to bad of a job. Car runs great though. Now no annoying tinging noise all the time also i honestly can say its been 3 years since the a/c has been used. (I never used it)
Anyway some pics.
All removed.
Amd for anyone interested to do this in future heres part numbers for what you have to change in order to completely delete the compressor.
Heres the belt. Cant say what car its made for but its a 6 rib, and works great for this.
Next is the lower idler pulley. (Under power steering pump) since you are running one less pulley you have to re route the belt, since the old pulley is smooth instead of ribbed, it wont work. So take that pulley off, SAVE THE STOCK BOLT FOR IT. Then go to an auto parts store (i chose autozone) and pick up this....
Its a idler pulley from a 89 i believe... Chevy beretta. 6 rib pulley. Just have to re route the new shorter belt, and boom. Like it was meant to be. (Also this is where you use the stock bolt on the pulley) heres the part number.
Now, you dont have to go to the extent i did with this... You can remove all lines or just only a certain amount, they dont really need to all come out, its just all about how you want it done. I spent 37$ on the belt and pulley together to delete the a/c. Took... 2.5 hours give or take to remove it all. I took it all out because i dont plan on having it again. Now if anyone really is wanting to do this, i can show a belt re route, but i dont think anyone will actually delete there ac completely like i did. But anyway... Have any questions feel free to ask. overall, im excited about it. Compressor alone weighs roughly 22 lbs. so i lost a decent amount of weight out of removing it all.
Also forgot, make sure when searching for pulley for beretta (if you dont use part number) have them choose "no a/c" option for the beretta. They have that option in there system

sorry but i love my ac way too much to take it out,
i think the reving faster is in your head, because when the ac compressor is not engaged it pretty much is a idler pully.

I didnt want another pulley in place of it. I wanted 1 less pulley in the system.
Plus i only spent 37$ on this and made my car roughly 30 lbs lighter.

Those Dorman AC delete pullys are hit or miss. On another vehicle everyone said that it was crap and you are better off just removing the compressor and using a shorter belt.
