3rd brake light from an impala

Impala's have LED 3rd brake lights that are almost the same shape as ours.

can we just swap them?

Yeah, someone on here did it. I forget who. I just bought an LED strip from oznium.com and made my own LED brake light.

You have to take the strip out of the Impala assembly I believe, but they work. Here are a couple of mine that I have made.

Ya it will work. That is what i did. All I had to do is sand the one side just a bit to make it fit.

I want a how to up on how to fit the impalas 3rd brake light into ours, or if someone could pm some directions I would appreciate it. I really like that look.

edit- I forgot to ask what year of impala would work or do all years fit?

Gota bring up an old thread. I wanted to install an Impala 3rd brake light and according to toddbobby, you only have to sand the edges to make it fit. Are the mounting brackets the same? Is the plug on the Impala housing the same for the Alero?

the mounting brackets and the plug on the impala's are not the same as an alero's. when i installed mine i didn't sand anything on the impala's led circuit board, i just pushed it into my stock 3rd brake light housing.
