Ok, I read a few suggestions, and got to replacing a fog on my 99 Alero.
I had to drop a bunch of bolts on the plastic noob shield, then BEND it down,
and try to reach in past the shield, just to get to my fog sockets... and this is
of course AFTER looking online for the bulb number (that isn't in the book,)
and reading several suggestions for access, a few of which suggest I go in
from the top, which just won't work on my '99.

Coming from a Dodge, I have to say... while I love my Alero, the idea that I
would have to spend 3 hours figuring out how to replace a foglamp bulb even
with online help, is sick... totally sick. I love my Alero... but someone at GM
was smoking crack when they designed it!

I guess they must have changed it, because whichever way you go (from the bottom or top), it takes less than 10-15 minutes to change a fog on my 2000. I'm pretty sure the bulb # is in my book, too.

Take out the headlights and it is much easier, even on a 99, which I have. You can simply reach down and replace the fogs, then pop the headlights back in place. Ten minutes tops.

I did pull theheadlight assembly out, and still couldn't reach down. There was plastic in the way. Maybe I'm just nuts. :/

there are just two 10mm bolts holding the fog light mounting bracket to the fender. Unbolt it and pull it out through the headlight area no problem.

i used the headlight trick also works with my cai.

yeah, I have to say I did my fogs in probably about 2 minutes. and I have a 99'. just pulled the headlights out, reached down and around pulled the bulb out of the socket and removed it from the harness. threw in the new ones and twisted them back into the fixture.
