random shutting off
every once in a while my car will just shut off instantly no hesitation no stalling no noises just boom off as if i turned the key off. its doing it more frequently now. i dont have a ses light i dont have a aftermarket alarm or remoste start. it drives normal. what the hell could be doing this? i have a new fuel filter and fuel pump.

Could be a million things to tell you the truth anything from a loose wire in your ignition to a bad igniter could be a ground vibrating loose, etc...
First check would be the IACV than the Ignition coil's if they over heat they can lose there connection.
Are you noticing any smells or common factors like "only once the car heats up" or "only at idle"

lol! stereo has nothing to do with the rest of your car...
check all the grounding straps in your engine bay, give em the "wiggle" test

Mine will randomly die too but it does it while I'm driving (00 Alero 3.4) Only a couple of times but its like NOTHING leads up to it. Going along and it just dies. Kick it into neutral and it starts right up and on my way I go. Hmmm.....

Hmmm......not sure what brand name is. The mechanic that installed it purchased it from a parts store.
