Track Time Q?

My track time sucks, rebuilt engine. with just intake ran 16.7 best , (auto) my launches suck off line feels like 1st boggs down and takes for ever to catch up, i ran with ets/ trac control off first time and did better with it on. only by .2 of a second, does this time sound right, i mean i build the motor to be stronger not faster?

I wound suggest lowering your PSI in your front tires to 22. And make your rears hard. Alittle over 35 ish depending.
If your driving an automatic put it into 3rd. no tracktion control. One foot on break, one on gas and have it at around 1500 RPMs per say. When the tree hits the third yellow light GO GO GO GO
