So i was driving home the other day on this "short cut" my friend told me about and pulled into this gas station there. I get out to put some gas in. and the guy working there points out this screw sticking out the sidewall of my tire.

So tire ended up being screwed I drove over a 4inch deck screw....

SO I decided time to get new tires anyways
I settled on a set of BFGOODRICH Traction T/A's

They look really beefy as compared to most i've ever seen I dunno if they changed there design this year or what but they look good. They are directional radial or whatever if is were they have to rotate the one way. (which the place I bought the tires from screwed up when they first put the tires on).

Anyways Got the installed balanced for a set for 320 bux canadian taxes in.

Figured that was a pretty good deal.

Ouch that hurts, I did about the same with my tires except i wore them down till they looked like racing slicks then ran over a small @$$ nail and that flattened my tire so i figured i better get some new ones. I went with Cooper Zeons.

I recently got new tires for mine as well, since my other tires were well into the wear-bars and winter is coming. I got Goodyear Assurance Tripletred tires, which are also a directional tire and are supposed to have excellent tread life. A pic of the tire can be found here. (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/BigPic.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Assurance+TripleTred&sidewall=Blackwall&partnum=25HR6ATT&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes)

So far I've driven with them in heavy rain and they seem very good even at 80mph. And handling compared to my old tires is much more stable through corners and more available grip, although my memory of my old tires is from when they were really worn out so it doesnt take much to see an improvement.

not to steal the thread or anything but since there already is one up about tires its useless of me to start another. I need new tires, mine are shot, so right now im looking for performance all season tires and the best of which that i have found are the Yokohama AVID V4S or the Bridgestone Potenza G009. THe yoko's are $80 a piece and the Potenza's are $98 each. my question is, do i need something of this quality, and how long are they gonna last me, because i cant justify buying new ones anytime soon so i want tires that perform well in wet, dry, and snow but i need a tire that will last me a while, so are the ones i picked out good for what i need otherwise recommend something else, any input would be appreciated.

The traction T/A's seem like a good tire. I know they stopped production on Touring T/A's, that's what my 03 came with stock. I had good, even wear up till 50'000. They were close to bald with 2/32nds left on the tread. Not bad.
Rotate rotate rotate. Manual says 7,500. every 6000 is better. 5000 recommended. Depends on your driving, and if you have alignment issues/ SUspension issues.

And for the next question....

Quoted post

The Yoko's have more bang for the buck. I looked up the 16 inch replacements. 15's will be similar in specs.

*Bridgestones 92H Yoko 97V -- winner, yoko
(speed rating) s,t,w,z. h being slower than z. This just tell you how stable it is at high speeds. It never hurts to go higher than your manufacturer label (on inside of driver door) But don't go with a lower speed rating.

*Bridgestones treadwear 460 yoko 500 winner yoko
Bridgestone has a 50000 mile warranty, the yoko compound is rated for 500. According to testing it has better life than the Bridgestone.

Bridgestone traction A yoko AA -- winner - yoko
yoko is AA, better than A. from best to worst AA , A, B, C

Bridgestone temperature A YOKO A --- winner -- equal

temperature A being best, B not as good, C not as good as B, etc.
A dissipates heat the best, C the least

price - yoko's the better deal.

factor in if you get a road hazard warranty, or mileage. whatever works out to be the better deal. These are both performance tires. You could go with a more basic passenger tire.

Stay away from good year integrity's at all costs, they are a crap tire. Very susceptible to impact breaks

Look up this stuff on the tire manufacturers websites.

Yokohama Tire (http://www.yokohamatire.com)Bridgestone's website (http://www.bridgestone.com)A good tire manufacturer with resources. Toyo (http://www.toyo.com)[

thanks man, i appreciate the advice, i am pretty sure that i am going to get the yoko's they come with a 60,000 mile tread liffe warranty from tirerack and that says enough about the durability for me. and they are a directional performance tire so i think im pretty sold on em.
