most people just go with cold air intake and exhaust and call it good. after that it depends on how deep your wallet is.

Well here's what i started out with.
Brakelight decal, i will clean the rear by taking off the Alero emblem.
I have put black powder coated mesh in the big gaping holes in the front bumper.
That's it so far.
Considering the options with CAI or RAM, but not sure yet, i suppose getting noticably more power without negative side effects isn't all that easy.
I will probably lower the car about an inch and a halve and go for 16 or 17"wheels.
If after that I still want to change something, it willbe the exhaust, possibly a round pipe on either side of the car.
Now that's really difficult overhere since we hardly have qualified mufflershops and altering the exhaust on a normally aspirated car isn't as easy as with a turbo, so i'll see what can be done..
good luck upgrading yours

Clear those god damn headlight corners man! The Alero looks a heck of a lot better without those nasty orange reflector lenses. Look it up in the How To forum. And also if you have foglights. I'd highly suggest replacing those as well. The stock ones are just unattractive.

say you're looking for horsepower also? I'm going through DonkeyPunchPerformance.com (http://www.donkeypunchperformance.com/) for my setup. he's one of the most knowledgeable people I know of, and best of all, I haven't seen anyone with better prices yet. Mild or wild, your call, and he can make sound recommendations for whatever you want.

thats the way to go blackjack jeremy does know his stuff and is a great guy to deal with. but yeah like everyone else said intake and exhaust, lower, rims, clear corners, when you lower it i suggest intrax springs and kyb struts, the kybs come off tirerack.com for pretty cheap and perform well and the intraxes are stiff but not insanely or uncomfortably so but offer a decent drop with a very sporty feel. good luck on deciding what to do with yours but make sure that it is what you want it to be. oh and welcome to the community hope you enjoy it as much as i do.

check out "justinaf" in the showcase. he did red and silver. looks real nice (even though he's selling/sold the car) it'll just give ya an idea of what it might look like.

So far the recommendations are right on target. I cleared my corners, did grille mesh, tinted my tails, and painted my calipers first week I had my Alero. I am going to get a cold air kit next, and maybe some lowering springs. I also did the B&M shiftplus kit, and like it. Exhaust is kinda expensive as a kit, so I will use tax return for that ;)
