Quick Question... tried a search, but no answer yet...
Original Rims, Original size rubber - 215/60/15
can I put on rubber that is wider? Ie, 225? Or is this not advisable?

i think you'd be fine but i'm no tire expert...maybe just call a local tire shop...they'll know for sure

225 would be ok. Trying to remember if the rims are 6.5 wide or 7. But if you get to far from 215, yould need a bigger rim. Unless you like having big balloons on tiny rims.
Pluys thats not really safe, say a 255 on a skinnier rim. The tire shop will let you know how high you can go. DOn't have a book here at home.
If you go too wide, you'll get funky wear. And you want to get the most miles out of your tires.

will be okay. Just remember though your speedo will read slower than your actual speed. Here's a handy little calcualtor to figure the differences.

I checked that and yes you are correct but I am not that concerned with a .97% difference. I am more concerned about the tires being too wide and rubbing.
