I would like to change the location of my fuel cap from the pass side to the driver side, with an open face (look at NASCAR fuel caps and how they are exposed near the tip of the tail).

To do this I know I will need fuel lines, the time and patience to cut and make the 'cup' that the fuel cap will sit in... what I was hoping someone could clarify is this... is it as simple as extending the line from the tank to the nozzle and mount the new line securely - or am I missing something bigger here?

Thanks,
Ej.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I'm asuming that the alero is the same as most other cars because I have never worked on the tank on my alero so i donno for sure, but on the cars i have worked on its not a fuel line like the ones going from you pump to the regulator and what not, its a solid plastic tube that goes from the gas cap down and conects to the gas tank. If its like this then you would have to modify the tank as well and you would have to somhow move the filler neck to the other side.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong though.

I think Robbie (AftermathAlero) has done something like this. If I remember correctly, he shaved the gas door and put the gas intake in the trunk somewhere....

Put a racing fuel cell in and you can put the filler neck where ever you like. Just shave the fuel door right off the car.
