i found a set of rims locally, and cheap. the bolt pattern is 5x100, im wondering if there would be any problem drilling them so that i could put them on my car similar fashion to that of the universal type of rims. they have a center cap so it should be covered. i think if it would work i could use my old hubs to be a type of alignment tool.

Your only going to be risking the structural integrity of the wheels if you do it. Other than that I don't see why it wouldn't work.

They make rims in diffrent sizes for a reason :)
Using your own hub as an alignment tool wouldn't be very safe either.
I've seen wheels where people tried using the without hub rings.
On one occasion someone tried this, and they redrilled their rims.
The studs and lugs acutually chewed the holes even more, making them slots.
It also weakened the studs, resulting in 20 stud replacements, 20 new lug nuts, and the guy just had the stocks put back in.
CHeap now won't be saving you money down the road.
Luckily this guy was by a tire/rim shop, and he wasn't driving too fast when he lost the wheel.

yeah, thats one thing i was thinking about is of the wheel would be strong enough to withstand it. im not going to do it but i think the rims would look cool when done, with some painting and finishing, but long term effects im not sure on. which is why i posted the question :)
