Hey guys,
I just bought some NGK spark plugs and Taylor 8mm wires from PFYC.com, and put them in my car. I gapped all the spark plugs to .060" like the factory specifies. First day, it ran good, then the second day, i started it up, and it was misfiring, stumbling, and sounded like the valves were clicking. Once the car got warm though, the problem went away. At one time, the Service Engine Soon light was flashing, which I know means that there's a problem that will cause damage to the catalytic converter, and I hooked up the MODUS scanner, but there were strangely no codes or pending codes regarding that problem. Any ideas what would cause this problem and what I should do to remedy the situation?

Oh, I also added in that 62mm throttle body spacer, which does no good.

you SES flashing means that a heavy misfire detected. Its the taylors wires.. worst choice to make. People complained on here and gagt.com bout them sucking. Thats were your misfires are coming from. Either the plugs or wires.. And I'd say taylor wires is the problem.

I checked all the wires with a spark plug tester, and all of them had a strong spark. If it were the wires, wouldn't it misfire at all times?

well misfires are usually the plug or plug wires. So if its not the wires, then its your plugs. Try getting some ac delco OEM or ac delco rapidfire 14, and see. (worse to come is you can return them)

No misfires shouldn't occur at all times, Unless its really really bad like a broken/missing plug wire. Right now its only happening intermittenly

Alrite. Thanks Richie. I'll just go with AC Delco's plug wires and just hope it's not the plugs.

why don't you put the factory wires back on to check if it's the spark plugs and then alternate and change the plugs. it's always best to try to zero in on the problem.

the factory wire for #5 got messed up trying to remove it. The boot tore in two pieces, so yeah, kinda sucks.
