so my magnaflow Camaro muffler sounds like it lost ALL its baffles/packing/whatever the hell's in there....and it sounds worse then when i had 'er strait pipe....wtf's goin on?

if i can't somehow make it sound better i think i'm gonna drop the muffler and just put a pipe in there :Noooo:

sorry dude but i think that your engine is not big enough to blow good sound thru that system.
in my opinion

eh, i had the magnaflow on my 2.4 and it sounded alright...a little bit on the ricey side, but it was still deep at times..maybe make sure you dont have a leak somewhere in your exhaust and check to make sure you're getting exhaust out of both pipes.

i'm not sure if you still have the stock piping after the cat or not, but dump the stock resonator if its still there and put one or two aftermarket resonators in its place with a straight through muffler (fart can) at the end. it'll be much deeper toned and more bearable to drive everyday.

no resonator right now....and i do believe the piping was redone to 2.5" when i got the muffler put in...

so you can either get 2 shorter resonators or 1 really long one with 2.5" in/out and put it in after the cat. it'll tone it down a lot

yeah i'll look into something..maybe...depends if a real tuner car comes into play or not...don't feel like droppin anymore cash i don't think...its always broke lately :Noooo:

put a resonator back in. it helps deeping the sound.

but yet i have the SLP pipes and magnaflow muffler in/out on same side and the damn thing is quiet.
i got to get turtle to upload the sound.

I went to the shop today and they actually suggested I do this. I would think that would sound like crap... anyone done this? It would certainly be cheaper than getting a muffler..................

sorry to hijack your thread, Pat

if you're talkin about running no muffler at all...yes its super loud, sounds like complete crap and its annoying...real annoying. i drove around for a few days last winter without a muffler and just the pipe out the back (long story) and its the most abnoxious drone you'll ever hear. starts to give you a headache after a while.

that's sort of what i thought... why did this guy tell me to do that? Anything to get a sale I guess.

thanks
