My car is just about done but I am working on my doors now. I am buying 4 45LB door poppers but I'm starting to wonder how hard they are to install. Does anyone know how to do it on here? How long does it take to install each one?

I too am thinking about doing this-I'm not exactly sure how to do it but someone told me a while back you have to take the door handle out, then put some filler and paint it or you can weld a plate over the door handle and then paint it-I'm not sure though

Oh I know the door handle needs to come off. I am welding in plates to replace the handle. I would not use filler to cover the hole its too big

youre still gonna have to use filler. unless youre REALLY good at working sheet metal, which i doubt you are. anyways. they arent THAT hard to wire up. depends on how you do it. i used my stock remote, so it took a bit more thinking. in your case you will need to use at least one extra remote/keyless entry system. you could use my diagram(in how to section) to run the fronts(hit once to unlock drivers, twice to unlock both), then use the new keyless entry system for the rears using most likely the first and third button(lock and aux).

installing everything is a peice of cake. Its the body work that is time consumming. (pending you do it properly)

Well I molded my z3s with little problem and welding is not that hard of a job. I know there is going to be a bit a filler needed but I was talking about not filling the whole handle area.

yeah i would like to do this somedat, i guess you just put filler underneath the handle to kinda give it a more flat and sturdy and stiff shape. the put a piece of sheet metal or some sort of metal over it. then add soem more filler i guess, and shave till smooth as possible. and your all set.

poppers hsouldnt be hard. i'd suggest getting a security system with remote start, and program the doors to it.

The way I know how to do it is to remove the whole door handle then weld in a plate to cover the area, grind down the welds, use bondo and high build primer. Not sure how fiberglassing it would turn out but I would guess after time it would crack and look like poop same as filling it all in with bondo.
