OK I bought the ASE PCM off of Forumla a little while ago and installed it. My SES light came on and never turned off. I was running 87 octane.
After talking to a few people at ASS, I decide to reinstall it and use 93 Octane. After 20 miles the SES light poped on, but 12 miles later, it turned off. 8 miles after that on again and on for a while.
Fill up a 2nd tank of 93 octane and the light goes off after 8 miles and back on again 20 miles later. Tonight at 162.5 miles on this tank, 1/2 way between 1/2 and 1/4 the light goes out. now up to 180 miles or so on this tank and it hasn't come back on.
The other thing it the stalling. I turn the car on and in stalls out right away. I have to start it and either jump it into gear or rev the motor and hold at 3000 RPMs. This doesn't happen all the time, bnut only whne the SES light is on.
Didn't have it scaned, so I don't know what code it is

are you running O2 sims? if so they might be causing the problem? i know i cant run aftermarket stuff like the shift plus because it conflicts with the DHP programming.

I wonder if your engine mods are a little to much for the way that the ASE is calibrated.
I believe it was inteded to be used with minor mods, like an intake and exhaust.

^^^ I dont know, my DHPs programming is good all the way up to a stage 1 cam?

either way his PCM would adapt to the mods on his car.
the o2 simulators might play a roll, but im not sure.
just get her scanned

Yeah I gotta go to the shop to do that but it's kinda hard when your working 8 to 8 everyday.
Still training on 1st shift
I am running a o2 sim on my downstream, but the thing I don't understand is that the light goes off, they usually don't do that

Is "Redog" nuts? Yes, because he refers to himself in the third person. Just like Bob Dole. Bob Dole!
Also, jabartram, what the hell is a "Stage 1" cam?

i'd get it scanned, i never had problems with the pcm, and i know that in the alero , the SES light goes of when the problem "fixes" itself, so it could easily be an o2 sim input error, and as soon as it's gone the light is gonna go away eventually. but honestly i thought it was supposed to be 3 errorless engine cycles.

go to engine performance on the left hand side, then 3400, shows all the custom stuff for the 3400.
i've known about this for a while, i was gonna purchase the stage 2 heads stage 1 cam and u/l intakes, but i'm going with the stage 2 turbo kit from DPP.

sounds nice, but a cam and heads would still be nice with that turbo

It's no problem, I'll figure it out.
The light went out on Friday, like I say, didn't drive it Saturday, and Sunday I drove all the way to the track (42 miles) and it came on right before I turned into the track gate, before 2nd time shot as I'm pulling into the staging lanes, it when out.
It might sound odd but I think it goes out shortly after WOT

OK I got the car over to the mech today, and it turns out it has 3 things bringing up the SES.
Bank 2 (or 1) runing rich.
Came down it unpluging the O2 sim and pluging the O2 back in. the readings were very far apart. Downstream was staying between 91 and 350, and upstream was reading 300 to 900. The range is only 300 to 350.
TPS low voltage
This is reading .051 at idle which my mech said is in range, but it might have to be adjusted. They did ask if I had a "cheater" on it. I don't but I do have one, I gotta find it
Incorrect serial numbers in PCM
It brought on the light too, but I know that it wrong. Hopefully it will stay out.
The SES came on after I drove away. I'm going to try the TPS Enhancer and see if the will work

^ I think it's because of the emissions and smog pump on mine.
It's cool, I'm on the right track now.
I was thinking about it, the car ran 15.20's with a poor fuel curve, maybe I'll be in the high 15.10's in this heat, maybe faster :yahoo:
One SES code was for the serial numbers, that really didn't surprise me :hide:
