My turn signal only works intermittently. When it stops working, I hit the emergency flashers and then the turn signals start working again. What the hell?????

hmmm, I had a problem with my turn signals not working before. thinking it was another problem, turned out it was a bad fuse......and they looked fine to me. Guess it was something the mechanic almost didnt' see. Maybe there is some wiring that has been crossed. If it's under warranty, take it in, have them look at it.
there was a recall on the hazard button? or at least a tsb
i haven't had troubles yet, but I'd look into it
bad relay

GM recalls 783,000 cars to replace hazard switch

Reuters / September 05, 2003
DETROIT (Reuters) -- General Motors said Friday that it will recall about 783,000 of its 2000 and 2001 model Chevrolet Malibu, Oldsmobile Alero and Pontiac Grand Am cars to replace the hazard light switches.
The switches could malfunction due to exposure to temperature changes, which could cause the hazard warning and turn signal lights to fail.
GM said it has not received any reports of crashes or injuries related to the recall, which includes 671,000 vehicles in the United States, 88,000 in Canada and the remainder elsewhere.
GM said that parts for the recall will be available in the first quarter next year.

Make them do it! Reference the GM NHTSA Campaign ID number 03V327000 with a recall date of Aug 27, 2003. The GM recall number is 03043. You can call the Olds hotline at (800) 630-6537 and they'll confirm if your car is included. The signals may work when the dealer checks them out but it is an intermittent problem so what they said was a cop out.

Go to a Chevy dealer. They told me that they are responsible for taking care of Olds recall items. They had teh switch in stock and will install it next week. Simple as that. :thumb:
