Hey...long time away from board. Nothing new with my Alero except I had dealer replace intake manifold gaskets that will eventually leak on all GM V6's and now my cruise control doesn't work.

It worked flawlessly before I took it in. Now, the steering wheel light comes on but the control doesn't engage nor does the "cruise" dash light come on.

I've checked all the fuses and they're fine. The cable is connected to the throttle body. What the heck else is there? I'm pretty sure they must have disconnected something when doing the manifold but nothing looks out of place, hanging, disconnected, etc.

And I'd like to try and fix it myself as they didn't tighten down on of the clamps on my cold air connector and left the throttle cable and another cable (believe its for the CC) not under the hold down/routing clamp. Lord knows what they'll forget this time.

 Thanks in advance for any solid help you can provide.

Yea, its a wiring problem. We replaced the button assembly around my steering wheel(packaged all together from dealer) and it works now. Mine would work on and off, until i replaced the buttons months ago and i have had no problem since.

On another note: And oh yea, the dealer sux for fixing cars (as you know already, Grant). People that bring their cars to the dealer for everything are not very intelligent and are asking for it..(not saying any of you guys are like this!) I love when people roll into our shop with stories of how many times they have been f***ed over ;) Same thing with most chains.
For those who do bring their car to dealers and cheap chains: ask friends and family who they use and trust, you want word of mouth reputations, not claims in commercials. =)
