yea air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires if they are bad......if its time an oil change........clean out the throttle body with some brake cleaner........now if you have some extra money id recommend flushing the tranny out depending on how many miles you got......

No tranny flush for me, I have 87k+
I changed the oil, oil filter, and air filter.

So I guess all I need now is the spark plug wires?

Major tune-up includes all the desscribed:

1. oil change
2. fluid check
3. Tranny flush
4. Radiator flush (if driving a stick after 75,000mi recommend R/R clutch)
5. Plugs and wires
6. R/R belts and filter(air, gas, tranny)
7. Check all joint boots. (CV, axles, steering,)
8. Check brakes, (R/R or resurface, rotors, pads)
9. Check fuse (I know most ppl don't but its a good idea. Plus running a auto shop its a way to generate a some business.)
10. Undercoat the car(optional, but recommended if you live in area that have snow)

To add to their stuff imma make a diff list...a tune up cna include different things depending how long its been since your last one

1. Spark Plugs
2. Spark plug Wires
3. Cap and Rotor
4. Air Filter
5. Oil Change
5. radiator Flush
6. All fluids checked and filled to proper capacity
7. Belt and hoses check for tearing, cracking, slipping, and wear
8. Check your O2 Sensors, although this is nothing you are recommended to change...if its been 87K...Id take a look at em.
9. Fuel Filter
10. Transmission Filter
11. tranny flush
12. PCV valve(This is one of the MOST overlooked things but one the important ones)!!!!
13. Check CV Boots and dry bushings for cracking and holes and tearing(Almost same symptoms of a bad belt/hose
14. get some additives for the Coolant, power steering, Oil, and Ac systems. Stop leak, plus sytem cleaner in the additive.(Lucas is best for most systems)(Sea Foam best for fuel system)

^^ I disagree with using addatives in your oil. And the wroost thing you can do for your car is get the stop leak crap for your radiator. It clogs your radiator which is how it stop the leaks, and will be costly to replace.

You won't need to change your O2 sensor till you notice a foul ordor stronger than normal exhaust from your pipes.

I will advise anyone don't mess with your A/C, unless you know WTF you are doing, cost it makes it that much harder for the guys who has to recover the freon.

Sea Foam is a cleaner that should be used before an oil change, I know what the label say, but you don't want you oil thinned out too much when running your car.

And for pete sake don't ever use the FIX-A-FLAT crap, they sell at AutoZone or Advance. It a glue that like to attach the sidewall to the rim and its a PITA to remove.

If you can't tell already, I run a garage.

hey you guys think, changing the tranny fluid (all of it), filter, and gasket. will restore any lost horsepower?

my car seems a little sluggish when warmed up, and i think my tranny fluid is old and lost its efficiency.

and super white, i thought the O2 sensors had more of a A/F effect, not an odor effect?

O2 control if you running lean or rich. Generally a bad O2 sensor makes your car run rich, hencforth the stronger odor.

You won't recover horse from tranny flush, but you will get smoother shifting, better traction cuz your gear are not sliiping as much. if you want a the best shifhting, and acceleration, you need to completly strip down a tranny, and trust me I put togather trannies before, and nothing pisses mechanic off worst than a completely assembly tranny, just to find a gear plate laying on the work bench.
