:pissed: Well my engine is misfiring on cylinder 3... putting out blue smoke... i work at an auto shop so me ant the guys tried everything we could. We determined its an internal problem... busted cylinder... ring, sucked in valve or something....
So Im thinkin get rid of the thing or get a new 3.4
would a 3.8 fit? i dunno im so mad right now... i have no car for the summer cuz schools gettin out next week.

dude, if you're gonna put a different engine in, go with the new 3.4 ecotec V6. Better than the 3400 that came in your car originally. ;)

it pretty cheap if that was a swap. Parts and labor that definately beats my price.
Im thinking you replaced a piston seal. I was wondering if you did do that why not go ahead and get forged piston instead. IDK. Im guessing.

what is the 3.4 ecotec rated at? you should of put a 3.5 dohc from the newer intrigues in there. i raced one a few months ago with my ecotec with header, exhaust and intake and got smoked.

So what motor did you put in it?

Well it was a brand new GM 3.4 V6 longblock... Same exact one that came stock. The labor included taking the old engine out, taking everything off the old one and putting it on the new block, then putting it back in the car. I was charged 13.6 hrs of work at $48 an hour! its that cheap cuz i work at an auto shop and they hooked me up :) (normal rate is $75 and hour)
$1995 for new block (with shop discount. originally $2,495)
$652 for labor (they wre even nice enough to put my CAI back in, lol)
