I've been shopping for wheels for the last 2 weeks. I just got off the phone with a local tire shop and the guy had been speaking with a rep from one of the distributors... he claims that there are fitment problems on the rear wheels with the hub... he claims that these issues cannot be solved with hubcentric rings. He also said the hubs have a conical shape and will not fit right. I have noticed that when I plug 01 Alero into most websites, the selection if very limited....
WTF gives here anyway? I want to buy these wheels in the next couple of days but it seems that forces are aligning against me....

just get wheels with 5X115 bolt pattern, or 5X114.3(don't hold me to this one, i'm not 100% sure) with hubcentric rings, and you'll be fine

which size wheel btw?

Just a typical 4 door silver GX.... the only distinguishing feature is the aftermarket fog lights but they are not really that noticable... Lately though (last 3 months) I've been coming in to work with the missus in her Grand Am so I only drive mine on weekends and in the evening.

Don't forget to get an offset somewhere between +38 and +42mm

You can also look under 98 and up Grand Am and 98 - 03 Chevy Malibu :smokin:

Just look at the pattern and offset and you'll be fine. Also stay between 15" to 18" for wheel size. Tire Rack.com also has a lot of wheels and it will show you what size tire to buy. Just in case you see something better elsewhere ;)

Sorry, I was just re-reading my first post and I should mention that all the wheels I had them check were 5 x 114.3... Are there really issues with this size wheel or are these guys just idiots????
