Well here is the problem I was driving home last night and the car just died about 10 feet from where I was going to park and now will not start.

I have spark at the plugs and coils
The battery is fine
The fuel pump does vibrate in the tank when you try to start it
The engine cranks it just will not turn over
All the fuses are intact none bad
And a budy with a code reader came over it is not throwing any codes

Have a v6 3400 with about 59k on it

Any Ideas? Help

sounds like the fuel pump is weak.

Mine went out in february. The pump sound will come in, but it don't pump no fuel. I had a screwdriver in the fuel rail scheder (sp) valve and cranked the car.. and no pressure.

250 bucks later after getting the fuel pump wholesale price at dealer .. and 1 hr of changing it. it cranked right up.

lol well hes still got a prob though, he wont know when something like this is going to happen again......replacing the pump can fix that cause the sending unit comes on there as well...........

and aftermath, how the heck did you change the pump in an hour.....did you luck out and have like an 1/8 of fuel in your tank or something?

nah i had 1/2 a tank . .like 8 gal in there. I did in my garage on my floor too. Dropping it out was easy.. just undo the 2 straps, 1 fuel pump wiring harness, 2 lines, and the big evap vent hose. Swap out pump and fuel gauge sending unit. slide her back under the car, Got 2 of my buddies to from each side to hold up gas tank and i quickly bolted on the 2 straps.

I also had previously changed out my fuel gauge sending unit before .. so i had dropped the tank once already. Always the 2nd time goes quicker.

mine did that back like 2 years ago. I changed it out with the updated newer fuel gauge sending unit (cuz the old ones were garbage).. .I had ran outta gas before with the old sending unit. But it got so bad, my low fuel light didn't come in or nothing. I used to look at the mileage i've travel.. and every 200 miles i'd fill up, cept for the 1 time i ran outta gas i didn't listen to myself. But ever since then, I don't trust the gauge even though its changed out to the new one.
