Recently its been difficult to start the car. It takes 3 or more tries to get it to start. Theres some sort of electrical issue too, I dont know if its related. Today as I was parking at school i was backing up and all the electronics shut off and then restart very quickly. A few more feet and the trunk opens (still in reverse) . Then, when I went to start the car to leave the trunk opens yet again. Whats up with this?

weird very weird. Alls i can say is check grounds and maybe get a diagnostic check . Something in the computer could be wrong. Not an expert

Yeah i had that same problem it happened a couple of times in october or november when it was colder up here in toronto. My battery ended up being the problem it wasnt charging properly cuz it was just to old. I replaced it and then i never had that problem again. But i wouldnt suggest just going to get the battery replaced have it checked out but keep that in mind.
that is really odd... i've never heard of that before, sounds like your car is posessed

check your battery terminal for corrosion or loose connection

Will do that. Car completely shut off at 5 mph at an intersection today. No power brakes, that was a wonderful experience...

eag182: what year is your car. I have had a similar problem, for months now my ABS and Brake lights will come on and I have no power brakes until I stop the car and restart. More over, the last week the car has been having a really tough time starting. The car turns over runs for a second then dies. I have thought about putting in a me battery but haven't yet. I am a little pissed because I took my car to the dealership and they looked at it and told me that the problem is related to AC and aftermarket electronics. At the time I had and amp istalled but no subs or fuses so the wire was just there. I was choked cause it cost me 75$ to have them talk to me like i was F***ing Retarded. But at least someone else has the same type of issue. I think that I will go with the battery. THANKS

check the connection...did it for me. My 1999 would have trouble getting enough rpms on the startup but so I took aftermaths adivce and removed the terminal removed some funky gunk and reinstalled it tighter and thats worked out well so far....
No idiot lights ever came on for me tho...

um, that ain't a battery problem
i'd have the alt checked, your brakes should still be powered when driving since almost all power comes from the alternator.
it's either that or i'd say it's your ecu heh
as far as the trunk it could be a bad relay, do you hear it pop and engage before it opens?
could be a bad wire in the line possibly, but something has to be tripping the relay to open it
edit: I think the trunk is a single wire
