Hi!!!

me's from germany. I have a 2002 3.4 alero (its called chevrolet alero here) it's a sedan and i luv her ^--^

http://www.darkbring.de/alero01m.jpg

i just removed the speed governor which limited at 125 mph via dhp reprogram, but i want to do some more modifications in the future. i think i will install a k&n cold air intake next stage and then may be a bigger throttle body.

its fun driving this car, i had a mercedes E290 turbodiesel before but the motor went down @ 40k mls so i was quite disappointed and had not much money, so i saw her and got her w/o knowing anything about it. but it was really a lucky shot. since this car is quite rare here many ppl look when they see it ^--^

i hope i can gather informations here and have phun.. and i am apologizing in advance for my worse english will post here

Hey RoninKouga, welcome to the site. We gonna have to have an international section to the board soon. that makes 2 Croats, 3 Germans, and 2 Sweeds here! (i dont think im forgeting someone)

RoninKouga there are a lot of companies that will ship internationaly, but also there are a lot of products that are made in germany/italy/UK that GM uses in the states. its just the searching for companies is a pain. gl :thumb:

what part of germany are you in?

i believe there are not much differences, but i'll make some Photos today. shes a lil dirty today, but its sunday and all the wash-boxes are closed here. Another thing is that i still ride w/ my winter tires so don't roll over for laughing when you see the small 195-wide tires

my home town is near Hannover in Niedersachsen. It is called Goslar. But due work i had to move to the Swiss Border, 5 minutes away from Basel (suiss) so i gotta drive home often .. ist approx. 400 mls

Crolero
05-15-2005, 02:34 PM
that would be the second meet
check out this post
http://invision.aleromod.com/index.php?showtopic=11898

I was in duisburg a few months ago and drank Pilsner all day, good stuff :thumb:

gas here is about 1.02 euros/liter for EuroSuper Plus 98. i dont put anything else but 98 in, the 95 is half water and dirty.

whats gas in DL?

RoninKouga
05-15-2005, 02:57 PM
*lol* nice shots.

as you described, when you opendes the container as you got her... i felt absolutely the same when i got my key from the car import company and started her engine for the first time. and yeah, it does cost arm and lag for paying taxes for a 3400 ccm car in europe. its about 480 €uros a year. but i had a 2900 ccm diesel car before, it was way more expensive, but diesel gas is cheaper then real gas here. so its a calculation matter (for guys wo buy a car just to drive - not for loving it ;)

gasoline is about 1.20 € / liter i think - i do not ofen go to german gas stations coz in suiss i'ts about 1.00€. i do only fuel with normal (95 octane) gas coz as fewer the octane you can drive your car without having your engine on "knock retard timing" as more power it has.

as for the pictures of the car. i'm currently uploading them and having it done in about half an hour.

ah.. ure absolutely right alero is unstealable in europe. i saw 6 only the last 3 years, but it happens to be a fact that one alero owner lives in the same town then me. its a black 3.4 one. i did not stopped by to him, coz he is the owner of a large company and i think he has few time and other things to do but everytime we see us on the street w/ the aleros we are greeting  its something special to drive alero here.

aint that the truth!!!

the best part is when people take pictures of your car at a stop light. especially when there is a BMW, Audi or MB next to you. makes them jelous as hell. i'd love to see more pics. ive noticed that Aleros in europe dont have the spoiler on them. from the few that i've seen im still the only one that has a wing.

finally ... the pictures.

i am sorry - but i'm not good with tumbnail scripts - so i just posted the pics in full size, 5 per site on 4 sites. ill get a script next days, as for now its recommended to open the site only w/ highspeed connections (DSL+) every page aproximately contains 2 mb

the link is here:

sorry for the inconviences.

nice, i see that they took off the Olds emblems in the front and the back. you thinking of getting the Oldsmobile badges to put on there? what year is that?

RoninKouga
05-15-2005, 03:58 PM
its first registred in 12/2001 but according to the VIN its a late 2000 alero. must have been in the container for a long time ;)

i'm won't badge it with olds badges, i think about debadgeing it completely since they have stolen my front badge as you may have seen on page 4.

they have started to sell crappy "kia" or "daewo" cars or something like that from korea or somewhere under the name chevrolet in germany this year (its really crap of cars) so allmost every GM owner here is absolutely upset about this. the whole gm group has been teared into mud by this here i think. maybe im seeing that a littele to strict ;)

Crolero
05-15-2005, 04:05 PM
i feel you on that Chevy Daewo thing. they have all these GM flags at the dealerships but they are only selling crap cars. I actually pulled into one just too mess with them a bit. I told them i needed my oil changed. they looked at me funny. then i asked if this is where GM's where sold. the guy said yes. i agian asked them to change my oil the guy was shocked. He's got no clue what a real chevy is let alone what a GM car looks like. i told them id do it myself then.

*LOL!*

i think i would have fallen over of laughing in this situation.

just when i think about that - i remember something alike when in had her new and the tire warning signal came up. the car was new so i didnt want to mace any experiments.

i drove to a garage which was called "US - Car specialists" in germany. actually it was an old thick but nice german guy who even didnt speak english. he took my user manual and was gone for sorta half of an hour or 45 minutes. then he came back and pressed the reset button, laughed and sent me away with taking no money for it.

i think he read the whole manual (which is written in german) hehehe.

05-15-2005, 04:19 PM

the only pontiac in europe sold i belive is the ugly pontiac spaceship looking minivan. whats it called....?

RoninKouga
05-15-2005, 05:13 PM
uh i dunno. but i do know a lot of old pontiac firebirds here, it was pretty often sold in the 90's here. but i dont like the design :)

by the way, have you made any performance mods on your aleros?

Cliff8928
05-15-2005, 10:35 PM
Looks nice... It's neat to see all the tweaks that they make to the euro-spec cars versus the regular US ones. I really would like a set of the genuine euro headlights. Does the owners manual go over the euro specific options (like the headlight levelers and the rear fog light?)

hi cliff. i took some photos of the lights and scans of the user's manual for you. you can find it
here. (http://www.darkbring.de/alero/index5.htm) :)

i am thinking about installing a k+n CAI because i like the sound given to the engine by this tool. but i do search an international shipping online shop that can provide a cai tube w/o too much plastic flanges, i mean a system that can be assembled directly to the throttle body.

get the one that Naich makes, its made to fit perfectly to our engie and its not that cheap plastic stuff, its great. take a look at this post to see more. Naich also quoted me shipping around 35 USD for 3-5 day shipping. So its not a bad deal. And you get a custom made CAI for the 3400.

yea, i discovered it right after your last post where you mentioned it, and i wrote an inquiry to naich XD.

i saw a pic of his cai and i believe that its really done well, coz he didnt use this flexible fluff accordion blah flangues(i donno how to describe them XD my english isnt very well after all :) i'm sorry) that cause air turbulences.

i'm lookin forward to get an answer from him.

since they label POS cars from korea (former daewoo) "chevrolet" here i think about assembling a "grand am" badge but i still wonder if this is ok...

i's a shame that they are using this label for such trashy cars..
