Tonight was my first run at the track ever... i started out with an embarrassing 17.4 because im a moron and had my car in neutral...however, through the night i made changes to my bone stock 3400 such as removing the silencer that attatches to the air filter box, and that did pretty well, and i feel a good gain in power, i ran a 16.4 with that adjustment, after that i removed my air filter and added octane booster to my tank full of 93 octane... first run like this i ran a 16.1, then on my last run i propped open the air box so more air could get in... and amazingly enough i pulled off a 15.7 at 87 mph with a .1 reaction time.
i am planning on doing a few mods, one of my friends who has one of the fastest srt 4's in florida claims that with about a thousand bucks we can get my car into the 13's... i dunno if thats possible, but hey why not try and see what we can get with a 75 shot of nitrous, ported throttle body, CAI, and exhaust system.

nice time for a stocker. got any slips...?
check out redogs post for "getting faster times for cheap" its a great write up.
im sure that if it only would cost 1k someone like sc/alero would already found a way. his best time is 13.8 if im correct and he's got maybe around 5k (or more ?) in that ho.

75 shot of spray? You'll blow the motor.
You will have to spend a lot more than a grand to get an Alero in the 13's I spent about $3250 on just parts (add another $1000 for the big stuff I did that I couldn't install myself), and that includes lighter wheels and better tires, and I'm barely in the 14's. I'm N/A too.
Without NO2 (dangerous) turbo, or s/c, it won't happen, sorry
If you're going to do the TB, do the manifolds too, without doing the manifolds as well it's a waste of money. You're only letting in as much air as your smallest opening will allow.

Thanks for the plug and here's that link http://invision.aleromod.com/index.php?showtopic=10802 and sc/alero has a lot more than $5K in his car. He has the Eaton s/c which is $4K itself.
Your times are good, don't get me wrong. r/t is really good too :thumb: I try to avg .100 or less, that makes a big differance in brackets. Just research everything you do, some 'mods' can slow you down.
