i was fixing some lighting work, organizing wires and what-not, then me and my g/f drove about 6 mintues to the insurance office. and my fug'n car won't release my key. it clicks to acc, then to on, and starts. but only clicks back from acc about half way and locks. wtf happened?!? :pissed: :pissed:

i had a similar problem today with my company car. i couldnt turn the key at all to start the car. like i put a diiferant key in in. I jiggled the steering wheel a bit and it unlocked it somehow. try it, it might not work but you never know. gl

Did you remember to stick the car in PARK? if it is in park turn the car back on take it out of PARK and then put it back in PARK and try to remove your key again.

Auto??!! I will assume so. If you removed the shift handle or have replaced with another the shift lock lever or "the white part in the black part" has to come up to a certain point other wise the key will not release. very frustrating.

if you dont want help drive it to a f'in dealer and have them take it out. Chances are it isnt going into park the whole way.

i meant putting it in park didn't help solve it any better. not that your suggestion didn't help. i'm not gonna criticize someone offering ideas... geeze...

Mine does that once in a while. I find that if I start it, then kind of force it to off when I turn it off they'll come out. Sometimes I have to do it a couple times before it'll let them go.
