ive got the clarion dxz 745 and its a awesome deck. not sure about the 545, i believe thats a "pro audio" but the pro's may have started with the 645's.

clarion has always been about top quality parts, top sound quality, with hu's that are NOT flashy (like kenwood/pioneer)

since they're not flashy like alot of HU, they often get overlooked. you can get a refurbed 745 for around 180 shipped it looks like. may be out of your range, but i really like mine.

the cosmetics are always fixed

there was obviously somthing broke on that unit to have it sent back to be refurbished, so whatever that is should be fixed. i know i got a refurbed cell phone when mine broke and they warrantied it out, and it was broke when i got it. the next one was refurbed and worked fine though.

usually its perfectly fine, but there's a chance it could still be broke, or not completly fixed.

ok thanks! i think ill go ahead and get the 545 model, since it has the aux input and the sub output like i need.

Clarion is one of the better brands, go for it.
