So far the best time I've pulled outta my car has been a 14.4 at 95 mph with intake, drag radials and a 55 shot of NX :D
(the best I got all motor was 15.3 at 89 mph)

Damn dude, drag dials do that much ? I mean if ur running with a 3400 and all u have is intake, and u can run a 15.3 thats impressive..

Holy poope!!! Thats pretty quik! Now Im curios as to what my 3400 will do with intake/exaust, stock tires. If I could break 15......that would make my day!

14.4 is a pretty sweet ass time dood.
U shood head over to GAGT.com u'd be in the top 5 for nitrous times

he has the 2.4.......... not a 3400.
lets see some timeslips dude.............
and no1 on here makes enuff power for drag slicks to make a difference......... well maybe 2 people make enuff power..... but hes not one of them.
my best is 15.9 with exhaust and intake..... but i have big heavy 18's on my car and im about 260...... so that doesnt help either......

Thats right, I have the 2.4L 5 spd. The only mods I ran all day were newish drag radials(they were borrowed from my friends grand am) a tru cold air intake and the spare tire and the top of the back seats removed. I covered my tires in track bite every run. When I first got the car I posted a slip from shannonville with a 15.73 at 89 mph. That was completely stock, not even and intake or anything. The track bite and radials really helped my launching so I was able to get slightly better times with minor mods. And it seems that my car loves the NX. I sprayed in all gears. I'll post slips as soon as my scanner is hooked up. It was at shannonville dragway in shannonville Ontario. about 2 hours east of toronto, I don't know the elevation though.

Ohh and just to let u know, my car makes 137 FWHP all motor when I dynoed it. On the bottle she makes 174 FWHP 204 at the crank.

More than believable. Stock 97-03 grand prix gtp's dyno at 195 fwhp. On stock tires they pull 14.8. With alero's weighing in around 300lbs less I don't see why not. Especially with drag radials, which do help if you are having bad wheel spin off the line. Even stock. I've seen otherwise stock GP's run drag radials and drop there times also. It's all about the 60' which is all about traction.

WAIT!!!!!!!
2.4????
14.4?????
On CAI, slicks, and 55 NX
I dunno about all that. Even if i saw the slip i'd be skeptical. I'd have to see a video or see it in person to be convinced

shannonville's website says its not open till April.

01-02-2004, 10:29 AM
they only way possible is if his alero weighs as much as a cav. those times look like something a 2.4 5 speed cav would run.
a 2.4 5 spd alero is close to the same ET as a 3400 stock.

01-02-2004, 01:54 PM
I didn't go to Shannonville recently ( as in this month or something) it was earlier this year. I just haven't been posting on this site for a while and I thought I'd mention it.

What kind of 60 were you getting?
Silverknight
01-02-2004, 02:15 PM
2.12 was my best and my average was 2.35
Oldsman
01-02-2004, 03:09 PM
2.12 is a good 60ft. but 2.35 is average. the mph looks right but the et just does seem quite right. unless the track's system is off.

on the 14.499 second run my 60 ft was 2.256

I don't understand you guys, I've shown u the proof and u still don't believe me, the 16.1 run is actually my friends car. (a D16 civic with some work). If u all still don't believe me then next time I go to the track I'll bring my camera and get my friend to film while I'll pull a low 14 second run again. And as is I think my car weighs about 2800 lbs. I really couldn't tell u though cause I've never weighed it before. But like I said, I removed the back seats, spare tire, I have a lighter battery. Plus I myself only weigh 130 lbs. Also if u didn't hear me before I said "The first time I took my car to the track it was COMPLETELY STOCK and I pulled a 15.73 at 89 MPH!" My car has NEVER been in the 16's

01-02-2004, 08:03 PM
im sorry there is just no way a 2.4 5speed would run 15.73 completely stock. there is jsut no f'ing way man.

yeah i'm with sweet dood.
We weren't born yesterday and some of us know alero's inside and out. And there are some supercharged 3400 GA's that are just barely in the low 14's.
So either ur thinkin u can pulla fast one on us, or u are horribly mistaken with how big of a nitrous jet that u have.
Oldsman
01-03-2004, 12:52 AM
your car would have to weigh the same as a cav in order to do what you say.
if it does then great but that would make you the only one able to do so with a 2.4 5 spd. so this is why it is hard to believe
but hey, a vid would be great just to prove the 2.4 can hang.
Silverknight
01-03-2004, 12:56 AM
god damn, u guys don't think I know my car inside and out either? I'm not some noob to Aleros or engines for that matter. I'll bring my car to the track as soon as it opens with canadian tire LXRs on all four wheels, no nitrous and a FULLY STOCK INTAKE and FILM IT and PROVE that my car can pull a 15.7 out of a FULLY STOCK MOTOR

Im not sure why you dont understand why people would be skeptical.
You dyno with the bottle at 174 There is a ga with an sc that dynod at 236 and he is running about 14.3-.5. That is about 60 hp differance but you are running the same ets.
Im not gonna say you didnt do it but you have to understand why people would be skeptical.
You would have to be weighing about 5-600 pounds less than him to be running a comparable et. Which this is a possibility.

It was free, I'm friends with the guy who owns the dealership where I got my car. Plus she's still under full factory warranty. (They don't know about any mods to the car because everytime I take it to the shop I remove everything) which isn't really that much but still...

i believe you man i have a 2.4l 5 speed and there faster than people think. i raced my one friend with the same car but his is auto and it was on an airport runway i think it was .5 miles and i beat him by about 8 car lengths at about 110mph. the stopping distance is also included in the 1/2 mile.
Rock on silver five speed aleros we rule

Just for the record, I do believe you also!
Silverknight
01-05-2004, 08:44 AM
Thanks, at least some ppl on this site would rather respect then be skeptical. And yes 2.4L 5 Speed Aleros are under rated. Depending on driver skill they can be just as fast as Cavaliers or Sunfires with the same Engine/Tranny.
(ohh by the way CHECK OUT MY SIG PIC)

hey silver i'm wit you man, i ran a 16.1 with just an intake and welded on muffler! so if you add the nitrous and drags i can see a mid 14 sec run. They can say whatever as long as you got the proof i'm with you. Hell run it at the GAP this summer and prove them wrong, i know i will be suprising a whole lotta people with my 2.4 5spd setup!

hey man u got a turbo, if I make it to GAP we should go head to head, turbo Vs Sprayed

i'm game, but i hope you got a whole lot more planned, cause by then i should have my bottom end fully built! hehe! but yeah seriously if you can get to the GAP! it sure seems like there's gonna be a whole lotta fast cars out there.
and for those that doubt the abilities, i raced my cousing with his Z24 5spd, same exact mods, we were dead even, it all broke down to driver skills! believe it or not but thats the way it is.

Its all in where you are located also, elevation, track temps, driver.... I had a bone stock 3400 auto (...) with Dunlop ZR's on the front, and pulled a 16.5. I've read the stock times for this car is a 16.1.
I also have a D16 Civic that weighs in at 2109 with basic bolt-ons that was 2 tenths faster than my Alero. So there is something messed up with your times compared to your friends D16 Civic. Thats about the same times I'm pulling but your 4cyl 5spd alero shouldn't be pulling those times. You said you ran a dyno, have any papers from that?
My argument with the D16 Civic may be a little out of place, but I had a SOHC 1.6, cam gear, I/H/E, slicks, NGK plugs, plug wires, and B&M FPR. And I ran a consistant 15.8.
Silverknight
01-20-2004, 01:38 PM
my friends civic had an intake and exhaust, and he was lucky to pull a 16.1 outta it, he normally runs 16.2-5's and I do have papers from the Dyno, just not scanned yet, I will scan them eventually, hell I'm even going to get it Dynoed again in about a month, I'll post a video too. and if you didn't knowtice, my car was running slicks and weighs about 2800 lbs .
