Ok folks this is what i need. i have been tring to get the support for our alero's for the past year. i finally got some support for the tunning side, but they only gave it to me for my vehicle. so i e-mailed them and this was our conversation:
Hi Mike,

We don't officially support the alero, due to the large development involved in supporting all the calibrations and the very small demand for these vehicles to be supported (ie. you are the only one).

The only way we would consider adding full support would be as part of a paid development, please contact keith@hptuners.com if you wish to pursue this.

At the moment we are totally swamped on supporting LS2 and 4cylinder applications so i wouldn't be until end of the year before we could consider it.

they put the whole 4cyl project on hold for the ls2. pissed off a lot of j-body guys. being there are way more 4cyl out there than ls2. but it's their business.

so have you been able to tune yours at all. cause according to them as long as the pin out is good it will just download the program and you go from there. or is it not that simple.

oh yeah i can due all the tunning i need to do and then more. but i have a few people here locally that i am dealing with. i just figured the more constant e-mails they recieved the better. they did the grand ams with no dicussions so why not us too. i can program anyones computer but it would just have my vin # in it if that is not a problem then hey lets get it on. i have contacted them several times but i just think that they think i am only one person and who would want to tune an ALERO :pissed: i just thought it was a good idea thats all flood the mail server with alero peole and maybe they might do something for us.

DHP Powertuner supports the Alero's, actually ALL GM v6's from 96+

they may not advertise it, but they do offer it.

I sent an email to them, and I have a question. If I do put your VIN # in my car then will that screw with it because I really have no preformance additives on my car as of right now just an WAI, I plan to do some more but not for awhile, and if this is for free then hell i'll do it.

Subject: Tuning Support For Aleros

Hello,
My name is Kyle W. Hauck. I am an avid enthusiest for the Oldsmobile Alero. I live in Denver and have been talking to Mike at Luby Chevrolet. As you may notice from my email address, I have a turbo kit for my Alero and would like to put it on my car. However, it was brought to my attention by Mike that I cannot safely install this turbo kit unless I have custom tuning. This is not possible through Mike's shop due to your company's lack of support for the Alero. This greatly dissatisfies me because I have heard great reviews about your products and would love to have tuning done to my car with HPTuning software. Please support the OLDSMOBILE ALERO with your tuning software.

Thank you, Kyle

What I received back:

Kyle, we will support your alero vehicle but there will be a $100 premium
per alero as it is a custom job on our part and requires a good amount of
time.
