View Full Version : 2.4l Supercharger
I was talking with a friend the other day, and he expressed interest in selling his 2.4. RSM Supercharger from his 2000 Cavalier. I was curious if this would fit on my 2.4L 2001 Alero? Im not really familiar with engines and such, Im mostly into body/interior modding, so I'd definitely have a mechanic install this for me. Anybody know if I should jump on this or not? Thanks in advance

I think it will.
The only thing I can think of is the Tranny in the 2.4 Cavy the same as in the 2.4 Alero?
This is important since the PCM and ECU will be effected

Alright, I'll go ahead and express interest, but I'll wait to buy before I get a definite answer. Better to be safe than sorry, thanks for all the info so far guys.

Email RSM Racing, see what they think.

yes it will fit.
the only thing is the PCM would need a reflash for the unit. Now if RSM has one for our cars is another thing. and then if it works right.
i'm pretty sure they do.
Pacman on GAGT had the RSM s/c on his car.

Yeah the 2.4 J-car had a different final drive from that of the 2.4 N-cars, so I know for sure the PCM will be effected.

get the kit.. and go to a GM dealership and have them reflash your pcm w/ the one that came w/ the gm s/c reflash? ... throw in some 370cc injectors, ditch the fmu that came w/ it...
I would be assuming it would work... as it works on turbocharged 2.4's... *the reflash that is*... can anybody tell i'm a fan of the reflash?

at least we have something.
i wonder how much politics are involved to get reflash with out the gm s/c?

not much... they get paid for it like any regular service... I believe it's about as simple as coming in to the right dealership, w/ the right part numbers and service number bull, w/ money in hand.
Thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it. Unforunately after telling me he wants $3k for it, I'd rather just spend the extra money and get the real deal from RSM. Ah well, many thanks for all the answers.
