I have a GX with 130,000 miles on it. I have run Mobil 1 5W-30 since 3000 miles. The problem is this... when the engine is cold up to the first 180 degree cycle of the thermostat I get pressures of 900 RPM- 40 PSI, 4000 RPM and Up- 60 PSI. After the first cycle of the thermostat 900 RPM- 20 PSI 4000 RPM and up 40 PSI. Is there anyway to get the oil to run cooler> I have ordered an oil cooler. Does anyone else have an oil coler on their 2.4? Does the pressure get better or worse? What else can I do to get the pressure up? Anything to check or redo? I just installed the guage(a little late in the game) so I don't know if this is normal for the 2.4 LD9 engine, or even my engine. Does anyone run 10W-40? If so what are your pressures cold and hot? Any help would be appreciated. If this is normal then oh well. The Helm manual only specs out 30 PSI minimum at 3000 RPM. This doesn't help when you rev up to 6000. Does anyone have normal pressures for the LD9, with normal wear?
I understand the LD9 oil pump is a little on the week side, but do not have the expertise to disassemble and install the 2.3 pump.

This is why car manufacturers stopped putting numbers on guages. People see the numbers and assume they're wrong. The pressure is fine, don't worry about it

yup, thats normal. On a hot day in the summer I will run 20psi or lower at idle. no worries.

If you get to around 5 psi, then worry.

it is normal. and as your oil breaks down you will see your pressures drop by 5 psi from normal.

Oh 10w40 doesn't help.

The reason why for this is our oil pump being small due to balance shafts.

The only way to improve oil pressure is by doing the 2.3 oil pump which is a major mod.
