would a SLP LS1 maf sensor work with our cars or would i be better off trying to pick up a stock one. or none at all. or would this be something to wait on until the upper and lower intakes are ported and polished.

do you allready have the 62mm TB, or are you planning on getting one? If you havn't yet, you should know that you can loose power with one if you don't have quite a bit of other stuff done to your motor...

i already have one and yes i was going to do some other stuff under my hood until a misfortunate incident took out my winter beaters tranny... POS Dodge. those things may still be coming but right now its in the distant future.

theres a pro-M MAF, and i believe the LS1 maf needs a MAF translater, and maybe a ICCU, from what i heard from Springs that is

if your PCM is not coded for the LS1 MAF tables your not going to achieve anything except getting pissed for your car not running right or tuning right.

unless you have the ability to change your MAF tables, dont do it.

i am running the stock maf without any hiccups and i am running up to 12 psi and i am still not maxing out the flow capabilities of the stock MAF

you ONLY need to get a larger maf if you ever can push/pull enough air through to max out the MAF table. other than that your wasting your time and money.

and a Granatelli is a POS and unstable. just get a Mini-AFC and tune in your fuel and leave it alone

did you miss my post above yours?

why you would ever want to put that thing in an N/A car is beyond me.

seriously trust me on this, a stock maf is good for ANY N/A 3400.

the ONLY time you really should even consider swapping a MAF for a larger one is when your boosted and boosting pretty good, over 8 psi would be the minimum i would even consider swapping it out.

like i said before, ive got a turbo on my 3400 and i boost at 12 psi and i am not maxing out the stock MAF yet. the stock maf will handle gobs of flow. at 12 psi the maf freq is only 11,200 mhz. the stock maf goes to 11,500 just like every other maf out there.

you put in a bigger maf without changing your maf tables and your gonna run VERY rich or VERY lean.

I will show you what a stock 3400 maf and the 75mm Tahoe (LQ4) maf table looks like, and you will see its not even close.

you should look into the TB before you ever think about the MAF.

so if i have just a CAI and exhaust is a TB going to hurt performance or should i be looking at adding some other stuff. if its other stuff..i plan on getting headers and my computer retuned sometime this summer.

you really dont need a bigger maf without forced induction.

the maf slp sells is larger than a stock ls1 its actually a truck or ls6 maf which is 4" od
honestly without tons of internals or boost you dont really need anything that big

the SLP maf is just a stock LQ4 maf from an Escalade and similar trucks/suvs

its not from the maf its from the mini afc and tunning the maf in
those numbers seem high though
what else was changed?

GP's with the 3800 pull 20-30 hp from a cam, they are not pulling 20+ hp from a maf swap with afc tuning ONLY

i would like some more info about this.
