Lately here's what I've been getting (stock car, winter weather,):

19.9 mpg
20.0 mpg
19.52 mpg
19.48 mpg

I dont really like these #'s. Please post your car's MPG and any mods you have done.

Mine's pretty close to that. No mods, need to do something, this mpg sucks.

I'm averaging about 30 mpg. Completely stock drivetrain. I'll get an exact mpg rating 2 fill ups from now due to I disconnected my battery recently and it reset my trip miles. (I like the old analog reading better than this electronic crap)

I had been getting around 30MPG in the summer, but averaging 20MPG lately with the temperature being steadily around -30C (-22F). Winter really kicks your gas milage in the arse!

2 weeks ago on a complete highway trip from pittsburgh to detroit and back with a 3.4 I got 24 mpg. I have a CAI and exhaust, i usually get around 22 around town. The only thing that saves me during the winter is my garage. I dont have to start my car and waste gas just idling outside b/c my car is already warm and I park it in a heated garage at work, so its the same when i come home.

another 2.4 guy here:
summertime: I usually get about 325 miles per tank on the thruway, cruise set at 2100 rpm (about 65 mph), and about 220 mpt without the thruway.

wintertime: I haven't gone on the thruway at all this winter, and I get about 120-150 mpt because I let it sit to warm up for a few minutes. (don't beat me to death with "idling is bad!" I know it is, but I don't wanna freeze my ass on those leather seats!)

my tank is about 12 gallons, right? so if that number's right, then I get 27 highway and 18 city for the summer; 10-12.5 city for the winter. Subtract the idling, and it's probably a hell of a lot better.

the tanks more like 14.something i cant remember exactly.......i get like 18 in the city and maybe like 25 on the highway.........if i drive it hard ive gotten as low as 15 miles to the gallon......

Usually 17-18mpg city
and 27-28 Hwy, the only thing I have on the car right now is a K&N air filter.
Everything else is stock......
It's the same milage I've gotten from day one.......

unmodded car.

I get about 17-21 city and 26-32 highway. This all depends on weaher conditions and temperature, of course.

If I really thrash the car around a road course, (There are a few courses made behind abandoned wearhouses in CT, not exactly legal bt it is completley devoid f any innocent drivers and is far from any residential areas) I have gotten mialge as low as 12 mpg combined but thats pushin gthe car to redline any chance I got.

I can get a bit above 30mpg on highwaydriving at about 75 mph thats my cars sweet spot where it will run at 2100-2200 rpm in top gear. Pretty good mialage for a 3.4 liter engine at that speed.

Winter time sucks for MPG, summer it the best

I'm getting about 18 city, but I'm wasting a lot of fuel do to the downstream O2 not working and dumping fuel <_<

Stock rims, roughly 24-26 mpg, it's not really city driving, but not really highway either. just 55 to town, 35 through town, and back. not bad, but it's with stock rims and a CAI. Lord knows them 17's are gonna suck the fuel up this Spring. <_<

mike2002
01-27-2005, 09:34 PM
all i have is a cai on a 3.4, and i get about 19mpg in the winter, and thats all basically city driving, but not traffic jam city driving....no idea what the summer mileage is. hope it gets better though, i dont seem to get much better on the highway

Anyone recommend a place to purchase a new fuel filter?

Vtolds
01-27-2005, 11:23 PM
Pretty much any where they sell them, you could get it at any auto store right off the shelf.

i use autozone's brand one.. i think its deutsch number FF508. Easy to change too.. i do it myself. Only easy for 00+up .. cuz the 99's you need the special fuel line removable tool which is only like 15 bucks at autozone, sears, or any auto tool store like napa.

how do i calculate my city and highway?

Vtolds
02-03-2005, 09:45 AM
Well unless you know the exact MIles you drove in the city and how much you drove on the highway, then you really cant calculate it. My MPG is a mix of both Highway and city.

When I went to Detroit, I averaged 325 miles per tank of gas. That was doing 70mph in Wisconsin, going thru Milwaukee 50-55mph, and Chicago doing 50-60mph. I was pretty happy with this. Next year im taking the Bonnie to Detroit and really have some highway fun!

CAI, SLP Catback, RSM Tranny Mount, B&M ShiftPlus

I am getting bout 17mpg just overall driving (mostly city). I fill up about every 4-5 days..it sucks. My MPG blows (then again I do drive like a bat outta hell)

I have the 3400 V6

Right before I changed my oil I was getting literally 13-14 MPG..it was horrible..I thought something was wrong, but then I changed my oil and instantly noticed the MPG increase.

I think something is up, I am getting TERRIBLE milage...

Stock Everything
About 65-75% Highway, the rest City:

Week 1, 20mpg
Week 2, 19mpg.

Right now I am hovering above a half tank, and have only driven 100 miles.

What gives???

pour can of BG 44K fuel system cleaner in the tank & fillup with 91 octane 3-5 times and you will notice a differance

I'm fortunate to get like 16 city 20 highway. I only have two small mods... Exhaust and that resinator on the air box, other than that the car is stock. I even had the EGR and the fuel pump replaced and it STILL didn't help. I liked my 2.4 better, but oh well, I sacraficed the MPG or a sunroof and 16"wheels.

Grrrrrr, 18mpg on my fill up today.

I really don't get it, I drive sooooo easily, rarely get on more than half throttle, and drive about 70% highway 60-65mph.

I am actually calculating exactly how much thruway driving I do this week, but regardless, 18mpg is horrible.

http://www.edmunds.com/used/2003/oldsmobil.....6.Oldsmobile* (http://www.edmunds.com/used/2003/oldsmobile/alero/100093091/specs.html?tid=edmunds.u.prices.leftsidenav..6.Old smobile*)

There it says mpg estimates are 20 city 29 highway. I should reasonably be getting 22mpg (even higher) considering how much thruway I use. Last time he checked (over summer) my friends 2000 5.3L Chevy pickup got 17mpg.

EDIT---
I bought this car 2 weeks ago at the dealer, the first time I got about 20mpg, next 19, now 18. Something has got to be up... Fuel filter, spark plugs, gas leak?
