Forgive me for being kinda lax on this but this is the only way I know how to explain what I'm seeing. Vision this: Stand in front of the car....pop the hood....look at driver side of engine......looks like tranny fluid is pooled on the housing of the transaxleup top. I assume it's tranny fluid cuz it's red in color. I know there is really no way to check the fluid level like in the old days. The car seems to shift fine. Where the heck could that fluid be coming from? I'm tempted to take it in the shop to have it checked. I have a 2002 3.4 V-6 GL2.

That sound like the place were the oil and coolant drips when you have a bad lower intake manifold gasket. Could it be the dexcool coolant?

I don't think so. I touched the fluid and it's red in color like tranny fluid.

no its oil, when oil is heated up and cooled down so many times it can change colors.......it isnt tranny fluid its oil, more than likely you have the LIM gasket leak because thats exactly what was happening to mine and in the same exact spot.......

Well....your right on the LIM gasket. Dealer just called and said that is what it is. They also are gonna replace the the water pump too because it's showing a small leak as well. Flush radiator and change oil too. Man.....glad I'm still under warranty for this. WHEW!!! Should be ready tomorrow. Hopefully won't have a problem with the new gasket!

when did the latest gasket come out? I have an 03 and had my gasket done last january and it's leaking AGAIN!, I'm out of warranty now but my car is going back next week and hopefully GM will goodwill it since the gasket is only a year old. Is the gasket that crappy or does maybe the intake get warped? I've heard aftermarket gaskets leak too.

i dont know when but all i know is i heard they were having problems with the gaskets and they were replacing them with the same ones and still having the problem so i heard they did something different......not too sure, just relaying you info.......and they are suppose to back the manifold gasket up to a year, if ur a shade over i think they will replace it.......
