the torque mounts off the 2.4L might work
other than that the trans, wiring, and almost everything else related to the engine would need to be changed
the 2.4L has a different bell housing bolt pattern than the 3400

i guess you could used the ecu from the grand am as long as you have the grand am transmission.

^ I agree. If you were to keep ALL of the GA components together I think it would work:
GA motor, GA Tranny, GA motor mounts, and GA PCM.

Good luck with the swap man, and post some pics of the progress.

^^^Yeah plus you don't have to worry about it fitting in the bay or anything like that

i dont know about the grand am pcm though...i thought the reason why grandam se DHP's wont work on alero's is because of the gauge clusters. if i was doing the switch, id get a custom pcm from dhp. might be worth it to put some headers on while the engine is out

I don't think so, i'm prety sure the factor there is the transmission. GAGT's have a different final drive ratio than we do, but since he's using the GA tranny aswell, it would work. ( I could be wrong here, someone more knowledgable on this subject is more than welcome to correct me on this ) IMO you're right on the mark with the comments on the headers. I gotta think it would be ALOT easier while the engine swap is taking place.

its the grand am se that people were asking if the pcm would work, and they were told there very very similiar, but not the same

grand am se's and alero 3400's have a 3.05 fdr

grandam gt's have 3.29

Well, with that said, is there anyone that knows for sure what the differences are between the SE and Alero PCM? Some hard facts would be beneficial before he spends his cash on a swap that won't work....I agree with you Mike, a DHP tune is probably the easiest way around this issue, provided they can change the way the PCM interacts with the guage cluster.

WELL, good replies. looks like the dhp tune would b great for the headers. can some one give me a site of the dhp...
