12-02-2004, 11:48 PM
omg! so sexy! so do you place the LED in the halo tube? like can i have a choice of LED colors? like instead of a whitish liek that i was thinking somethign a lil bluer, like my turn signals, and do these just always stay on? or do they turno one whenever night comes around? (night mode)

AnderbrA
12-02-2004, 11:51 PM
i just have a white LED at the bottom....you could put a different one in there, but right now its only 1 color....whatever color you want....it just stays that way....

it would ahve wires so you could hook it to the running lights or to a switch...

-Alero-
12-02-2004, 11:52 PM
yeah i'd really like it if they run with the DRL's but uh yeah can you notice the halo's on when ever your night time lamps are on?

AnderbrA
12-02-2004, 11:55 PM
i dont think they are bright enough to see with the headlights on....i could be wrong, but ill have to see when i try it with the headlights on....

i was thinking of doing them for the blinker spot too...just smaller ring...but thats a project for another day....eh.

I would say put one in the inside where the bright goes and one around the DTRL/ Regular headlights so you could have the headlight on and have a ring glowing in the center...like real angel eye halos  And when you are ready I want some...the way I mentioned prefered. thanks Ander...you have skill.

And if you don't know what that is, it's the rod that you twist to rotate the blades of a venetian window blind. Bought my rod and LEDs after coming across THIS (http://www.geocities.com/jvxdriver/eagle_eyes.htm) a couple years ago. Just never followed through on it. This is the second project me and Ander have had the same idea of, and yet again he's beat me finishing it.

I really would like to see what all three lights (inc. the turn signal) would look like... I'm sure it would look great.

AlbinoMonkeyRat
12-24-2004, 10:33 AM
do the rings have to be perfectly round for them to work? I was curious...perhaps a "halo" around the edge of the high beam socket.

hey, these look sweet, but did you yhink about using 3m reflective tape behind like in this link? makes them look sweet, even during the daytime....

It really depends on what look you're going for. Some would think it looks odd how in the link the Halo's aren't 'glowing' all around *raises hand*.

Sportalero
12-26-2004, 05:52 PM
Not to thrash on your original design whatsoever, Ander, but i do like the info Formula got on them 3M tape. Why someone would think it would look "odd" is beyond me. I mean Beemers have the halo effect during the daytime also, right?

And i think the info Form got that link from is the very same guy who's link i used in my earlier post..lol.

Sportalero
12-26-2004, 05:55 PM
And nigma, do you mean a projector, a halo, or both of them in the turn signal area? Because i think that would sorta be overkill, ya know

Eh_nigma
12-26-2004, 06:13 PM
I meant having the main turn light, the orinignal place, and then over the high-beams - 3 side-by-side. I think if the one around the turn light is a slightly smaller diameter than the other two, it would give a good effect.
