Shifting

I have a 99 with 43,000 miles on it and when i shift from park to drive it engages hard. You can hear it and feel it shifting. But it only does it shifting into drive. From park to reverse its fine. Anyone else with this problem or have any ideas of what it could be????

when have you had the tranny serviced last?

i dont kno when the tranny was serviced last, i just purchased the car used about 4 weeks ago.

OK My questions is does it shift hard everytime it shifts or is it just from park to drive because, if its all the time then check to make sure that the maf is connected and ait is connected also. Other than that I would take it to a dealership to see whats up.
