Hey guys
For a long time, my Service Vehicle Soon and Trac Off lights have been showing up "intermitently." Once I turn the ignition off and back on again, it disappears. There's no set pattern for when it appears, and I've taken it to the dealership several times, but they never find anything wrong. Any thoughts why it would appear only at certain times? I think it started before i started messing around with my wheels and tires.

u have a bad wheel hub.. cuz that has the ABS and wheel speed sensor in it. Now which hub is bad, you'll need a really good scanner that can read ABS codes to tell ya .. something like a snap-on brand scanner or the GM tech 2 scanner. All the autozone scanners can't read ABS codes.

Wouldn't that leave the warning lights on all the time?

nah it wont, when ur hub starts jigglin around and intermittently will set it off, like when its in a certain position.........i think eventually it will stay on, this is almost like a warning to get it fixed...........

My SES and trac lights came on a while back... The same day it went off, next morning did it again and then started to shift real hard out of gear. I took it to the dealer and it was a hi-voltage reading/short in the main wiring harness. Cost me like $210 to get fixed at the dealer. I say the next time you have the lights on go to the dealer and have them check it again.

most likely its the hub assembly or the cv shaft

I had the exact same problem and it turned out to be the main wiring harness. Something shorted there.

i had the same problem -- it was the drivers side wheel assembly -- cost $109 US at autozone for a new one. it was intermittent for me cuz gm tech dude said moisture/water got into the sensor harness.. so sometimes the harness was shorted out.. sometimes.. scanned codes to get the side of the problem -- and got my local mechanic to fix it.. cuz GM wanted $1400 CDN to fix it (they made up all this crap about new assembly, new harness, yada yada). took to local mechanic -- fixed in $250 cdn, parts/labour in. b@st@ard GM dealership.... :pissed:

Hmmm, I've had problems with my tire pressure, check oil and service engine soon lights. I had autozone to check it for me and they couldn't find any problem. I found how to reset the tire pressure and check oil lights and they have not come on since. However, that service engine light remains on and I don't know what to do about it. Does anyone know what I have to do about that? I'd appreciate any help.

the reset button in the fuse box on the drivers side, turn the key on, hold it untill the change oil blinks, then press and hold till it goes off (or something along those lines)
