I'm getting ready to start my turbo project for my 2.4l. what i'm asking is if anyone knows how much the stock internals of this engine can take. i'm not using a pre-assembled kit, i'm doing all custom work and i wont be using a huge turbo - probably a t3 at the most. i'll be using the neccessary fuel adders - bigger injectors, fuel pressure regulator, maybe a new fuel pump, and engine management - so i'm just wondering how much i can turn up the wick without sending a piston through the bottom of the block.

Not too sure about the 2.4 but I heard the 3.4 can handle about 8 to 10 lbs of boost, but 10 is the max.

Where are getting the PCM from?

It should be able to handle anywhere from 8-10 psi as long as it's properly tuned. I say SHOULD because obviously there is no guarantee, and there's always a possiblity you'll spin the #2 or #3 rod bearing, they're almost always the first thing to break under boost.

yep 8-10 psi. i would actually stop at 8.

OK...i was planning on running probably 6-7 psi so that'll be fine...at least until i pick up some forged and decompressed pistons. i'm not sure about the fuel controller yet....i 've heard only good things about the apex'i safc so i might go with that.

The Apexi S-AFC sounds like a good deal, allows a amount of flexibility and tuning ability for the cost..

hey do it!!!! but be warned its a pain in the azz!

most people on here are correct the motor can hold bout 8-10psi pretty good, but do do the necessary upgrades, fuel, oil cooler, etc.

Putting the necesary pieces togther is really not all that bad, if you need help just PM me i'll do what i can.
