I just removed the old exhaust and placed a slp exhaust on my car. Right where the cat and the intermediate pipe come together their is some smoke seaping out. This only happens when I get on it for a little while. When it started smoking we got back under the car and tightened the nuts and bolts as much as possible. They each turned about a half turn each but this did not solve the problem loke we hoped.

Is this to be expected when putting a new exhaust on a car. A friend said there is a good chance it is the new gasket and that it would stop in a day or two at the most. What are the chances that this is the cause of the smoke. If not what else could it possibly be.

It might be the cat burning/going. Does it smell like sulfur? Like matches?

I appreciate the couple of comments, but it has been quite some time since I originally posted this thread. The smoking has since stopped and I think it was just a breaking in period, if you would like to call it that.
