anybody know what to use to remove the oil filter? its a 2003, 2.2L I4 i know where it is, but i just need to know how to take it out.

you just turn it out.......there is a wrench you can buy that kinda makes it easier......

you can also use an old belt for grip. just wrap it around

I'm pretty certain Eco's are different. They don't have a spin on filter like most cars. They have a filter cartridge. You have to unscrew a cover thingy, remove the filter cartridge, slide new cartridge in and put the cover thingy back on.

Yeah they are different. I would help you, but I have never removed mine. I always have my oil changed at a shop...

Just uncrew it off the car if none of the other things people listed dont work, you can try to stab it with a screw driver and turning it :)

:blink: What he said would probably be the worst possible thing that you could do..
VTOLDS check out the link above.. he has a different type of oil filter. Its more like our air filters... With a casing that has to be reused every time.

and if I could find my front engine Eco pic I could show you the cover. It's just a small round black cover that is flush with the block and it has a nut on the end of it for a wrench.

kinda sucks though u couldnt put a bigger filter on it.

yup i believe it`s a 22mm screw it off pull out old cartrige install new filter tighten cover down
